I bought a new Fender Rumble 350 bass amp from Guitar Center yesterday and am waiting for it to be delivered to my home in North Carolina. I have an important question that I need to get a precise and correct answer for:

1. Can I add an external bass speaker cabinet to the Rumble 350 bass combo amp? If so, what will work ?
2. Can you make some suggestions as to the size of the speakers (10" , 12", and 15") Also, what should the wattage be for the external bass speakers.

I do appreciate your answers very much!

Godspeed,

Doc B. 8)

In a combo, likely not because the impedance is already at its minimum load (4 ohms). You could unplug the 2x10s and plug in two 8 ohm cabinets (equaling 4 ohms).

Most combos come maxed out impedance wise so you don't have to move external cabs to get all the power the amp can deliver. If you are going to move cabs you might as well buy a head for versatility instead of a combo.

Solid state combos with auxiliary speaker cab out jacks are not delivering full power without adding extra cab or cabs. Most makers have abandoned that external cab concept. Most combos are maxed out like the Rumbles are.

I really like the 350 combo myself. With the direct out XLR it can cover even outdoor gigs so long as their is a beefy PA with nice subs. A 4x10 arrangement is almost too big for a combo amp. This 2x10 gets it done unless you are going on world tour playing arenas.
