Cool. 8) What kind of cabs are you going to be running with it?

Either, or both of these cabs. 1x15, 4x8 w/tweeter/horn. Each cab is 8 ohms. Ordered 12 gauge speaker wire for them too.

Got my rumble 350 today. Even before plugging it in, I really like the carrying case. Since I live in a tent 6 months a year, I did not have a real speaker to plug into. (Try to get my 15 delivered to me next week), so I plugged into my puter speaker with a nice sub-woofer. I am astounded at how sweet it sounded even in this compromised setting. I tweaked different eq's and found wonderful versatility. I am going to do the headphones tonight and play with some effects in the effects loop. This seems to be a very sound purchase. So far, very happy.

I was looking at that Seismic website the other day. How are their cabs? They seem to be really cheaply priced for what you get. If their pretty good, then they're one hell of a deal. I noticed that they even have a 2x15" cab, too. I was actually looking at an 18" speaker cab, which they have in the sub woofer section. It seems that the only company that still makes 18" bass guitar cabs is Carvin these days. I had the idea of slaving an 18" speaker off of my Rumble 350 for some serious extra low end. I've always liked the 18" and 2x10" combination of speakers. There are a few ways I could do it. I could either get a powered 18" or an unpowered 18" with either a power amp or another bass head (probably the Rumble 350 head.) I would feed it from either the effects loop or line out. Either one would work, since I've done that in the past with good results. Either way, it will be a while before I even attempt this, and it's nothing urgent since the amp is good on it's own for right now. I don't have the funds right now and when I do I'm getting a new bass first.

Seismic Audio is alright. If you are on a budget they can really help get you going. No bragging rights but gear that works. Very reasonable speaker prices. Speakers are more even sounding than the many flavors that our favorite speaker makers put out. In many way very good for PA, where "coloring" is not a desirable feature. Cabinets are fair at best. I really like my 4x8" cab. It has great sound, the horn really adds bite and it cost 189.00 with free shipping. It has a 300 RMS handling capacity.

Without roadies, I am done with any 18" speakers. I had the Peavey, 18" w/2x10" cab. Awesome sound but a beast to haul. I like the modern setup where a mid size rig handles most rooms and bigger venues are for the PA to handle. I'll let my playing get me my propers. My bass rig is about tone and portability.

The Rumble 350 has really good tone. There is something about class D amps and bass that really works well. I remember plugging into an Ibanez Promethean a few years ago to try out a bass. I thought nothing about the amp until I heard it. Clean and full of tone. Glad I finally have a class D bass amp now. I really love it.

That's good to know about the Seismics. I suppose if your broke and it can get you through a gig, than it's better than nothing.

That's true about the weight factor. I can handle it, but I will have a lot of shows in New York City and Boston. Those places aren't exactly known for their ample parking and ease of getting gear around (another reason I went with this combo to begin with.) That's something I have to keep in consideration. It might sound good in a rehearsal room and even on stage, but will it be worth it to haul around? If I had roadies, well then why not?

Yes, from what I've read class D amps are supposed to be more efficient. I certainly love the factor of lighter weight. You can practically carry that Rumble head in a back pack without a thought. Even the combo is manageable. My Peavey Basic 60 seems to be the same weight or even heavier than my Rumble 350 and it's only 50 or 60 watts compare to 350. Bass amp technology has certainly come a long way.
