I've had the amp now for about 2 weeks and it is excellent for practicing and recording. I usually use the first Rumble preset with modified 2x10 speakers. It sounds great in a small studio room. I record using the USB interface it tracks really well And Logic finds the interface as soon as its plugged in. As far as general use The sound compares really well to my Ampeg B-100R. All-in-all I'm really pleased with the Bronco 40. I'm surprised there's not more action here in the forum about it.

Hi. What year is your Bronco.
Also, what is modified about the speakers?

I've not played through a Bronco 40, but almost bought one. Got a Rumble 75 instead. It's interesting that you like the Rumble setting. Do the modeling presets strike you as authentic sounding? Like you, I'm surprised there isn't more action here. Good to know it records well and your software recognizes the Bronco. That's a BIG plus. Glad you are enjoying your new Fender Bronco 40 bass amp.

What bass(es) are you playing?

The modeling presets do sound well. I think the Rumble sounds like a real Rumble with 10" speakers. I'm using the new Antigua Jazz bass and a Blacktop Precision Bass.

By the way, when I mentioned the 2x10" speakers I was referring to the advanced preset settings where I changed the first Rumble preset to 2 ten inch speakers. Love the tone it gives.

I just purchased the amp 2 weeks ago do I assume it was made in 2012.

At first I didn't like the sound as it is very different from the Jazz basses I was used to. Now, I really like the different tones the humbuckers produce. Because of the more powerful output you can really adjust the tones by using different combinations of the bridge and neck pickups. In short, the tone options are in my opinion much greater than you can get from the Jazz Bass. I really enjoy using it.
