Can this combination work or is the head underpowered?

I have been evaluating this combination since my main interest is classic rock, smooth jazz and pop, where deep bass is more my focus.

Thanks in advance!

This is an 8 ohm cab rated at 350 Watts RMS. If you use it alone with the Rumble 350 head you are going to have an actual power yield of about 175 Watts from the Rumble head. That is still quite a bit but I'd probably want a second 8 ohm cab, perhaps a 2x10 or 4x10 cab, to get to a 4 ohm load. The other option is to look for a single 4 ohm cab. The Rumble 410 cab is 4 ohms and would be a good match if you are going to use a single cabinet with a Rumble 350 head. The Rumble 410 cab has gotten some pretty good reviews. Figure up the inches of speakers. 15 inches for a 1x15 vs. 40 inches for a 4x10. Guess which moves more air?

Agree with Bro. Dave on the Rumble 410 cab.

Pichy, what are you playing through now???

In your first thread you stated your admirable desire to acquire Fender's flagship Rumble 350 bass rig, but were concerned about total cost.

The most popular value priced solution in the Rumble family is the 150 combo. It gets great reviews. If you haven't played through one, you should go to a music store and try one out. For about the same price as the 350 head you can have the 150 combo and be ready to rock right away.

Whatever your final choice, best of luck to you.

Besides $$$, weight is my main issue. The 150 is not recommended by Fender for the two lightweight cabs because, according to Fender, requires a little more juice to move those speakers efficiently.

The 410 is way too heavy for me.

After all the reasearch I have done, it looks like my best option is the Rumble 350 with the 112 (first). The second cab will be decided when I have a chance to try them both (the 2 x 8 and the 112) together with a 112.

Currently none of the stores in Cincinnati/Dayton area have the entire set in stock. Two have the amps, but only one has the 112; none has the 2 x 8.

I was looking at the Bassman Pro 115 1x15 Neo because I was looking for the deep bass of a 15" woofer. At 45 lbs, plus casters looked like something I could manage. The price was what was pushing it out of my immediate budget.

Right now I am not playing live. I have a home recording studio and I record originals and I am also the bassist for a group called ChordSlinger n Lola recording their original songs via the internet. It is with this group that I will start playing live by the end of the year.

I play a Geddy Lee Jazz bass through a Rumble 60 combo. I do not need more than that. It rattles the house when I turn it up!!

Thanks for all your help!!
