I am looking at buying a small practice/small gig amp for bass guitar. Can someone give me the lowdown on the amp, good bad and ugly? It is about 3 yrs old in good condition and I can get it for $40-50. What size is the speaker? thanks

No. You will just be wasting your money no matter how cheap it is. This is an old small low powered (25 watts) Frontman Combo with a 10" speaker for guitar. An electric bass guitar will destroy {cook; fry, incinerate} this amp in short order.

Do yourself a BIG favor and save up/earn money for at least a Rumble 30. You'll be glad you did.

The Bronco 40 is also a very viable (but more expensive) option to consider. It offers a lot of versatility for recording.

If your goal is to one day jam/perform in a band then seriously consider the Rumble 150 combo as your entry point.
