That's cool. I've yet to really start putting my Rumble 350 through it's paces. Unfortunately, I haven't played through it in a long time. I believe in the next couple of weeks we'll start rehearsing again, since we do have a few things in October, plus who knows what after that. I'm going to be quite busy. I can't wait.

I've been practising through a Hartke B20, which isn't as good as the Fender. At the time I got it, they didn't have the new Rumble series yet and I got a good deal on it. I used to have another Fender (that belonged to someone originally in my girlfriend's family) small amp that I practised through when I first moved here, but I don't know what happened to it. I think it's stashed in some closet somewhere. I remember it started buzzing real bad. I'm not sure if it was the speaker or the electronics. I should try to find it and see if I can do anything with it. It did sound pretty good before that. Hopefully, it is the speaker, then that would be an easy fix. I really don't know too much about electronics like that. I wish I did. That's something I should get into. Repairing amps. That would be handy.

I've had this thought about rumble and studio 110 before.. I was leaning towards the Line 6 because of the sounds it can produce.. but then again.. now I'm leaning towards the rumble series..

The Rumble 150 Combo isn't the best selling bass amp in America for nothing! But check out my thread "The Competition"

There's a lot of good combos out there at very reasonable prices.

If it were me, I'd definitely go with the Rumble. I've read and heard many stories, especially on their own Forum, about problems with those amps. At least Fender seems to be better built.

Bingo. I been told that Line 6 is no longer making bass amps.

Really? I haven't checked their website out in ages. I know there were problems with the guitar amps, as well. I knew somebody who went through two of them. This is what put me off to those modelling amps to begin with. The more goobly-gook electronics you have in your amp, the more likely stuff can break. I guess I'm old-fashioned. I just want basic controls and if I want to colour it up, I'll use stomp boxes. At least if a pedal goes down, your whole amp won't be out of commission.

agree.. the simplicity will be the best... there are a lot of electronic emulators out there.. and nothing beats the original

Playing my new American Standard Fender Jazz Bass through my Rumble 75 today, and man it's just a beautiful thing. :) Soooo toneful & soulful too. Tons of top end, but with plenty of well defined bottom. Volume on 3. Bass: +7db LoMid: +5db HiMid: +5bd Treble: Flat

Kicking Big Bass Booty!

On the Jazz: Neck P'up = 7/8ths : open her wide open and then back off a tad. Bridge P'up = about 2/3rds open. Tone = shut down then crack her open until the highs leap out. Stop. Nice deep growl lives right there. That's the address. 8)

Mmmmm...Fender Love!

Sounds cool. Is it the new 2012 model? I've seen that they made some changes to the series.

That's a cool bass you got there. I've never ventured to the Jazz Bass forum before, that's why I missed that post. I guess it's because I don't currently have a Jazz Bass. I have a tendency of reading only the bass amp and lounge forums, since that's where I've actually posted something. I have ventured elsewhere on a couple of occasions, though.

So, what do you like better, the Precision or the Jazz? That's something I've been debating myself for many years.

You know it's not either or, it's both. You should have one of each. My Precision I keep strung in flats for a true vintage classic rock sound. My Jazz came strung with roundwounds and that's the way I'll keep it for a progressive Greg Lake/Geddy Lee sound. The Jazz is a very wide ranging and versitle bass. I really like it and it's a shame that I waited so long to get one. Go play one. You won't regret it.

I know it's almost like comparing apples to oranges with those two. Each has it's own thing going on. I used to have two Jazz Basses: A 1971 and a US-made 1994. The '71 I got for $450 (in mint condition with all of the hardware) in 1989. That's the one I cut my teeth on. When I really started developing my playing style was with that one. The '94 wound up having neck issues (I could never get the action right without it buzzing,) which makes me wonder if that was a bad year for Fender, because a friend of mine had a US-made 40th anniversary Strat that developed problems, too. Could be a coincidence, though.

Right now, I'm playing on my girlfriend's 1994 Precision Bass Lyte, which in a way is kind of like a hybrid between the two. It has a Jazz neck and bridge pickup. Unfortunately, the paint severely started to crack and peel off of it a few years ago. It's rather odd, since I never had that happen to me before with an instrument.

On the bright side you do have a Rumble 350 :!:

8) Groovy ZoomBa! 8)
