Thank you for the interest. The Bronco 40 did very well indeed. We play at a local living center each month and really enjoy coming in and performing for the folks. The room is their cafeteria, about 30 X 60'. I know a 40-watt, 10" driver isn't going to carry bass frequencies convincingly, but the little guy did a fine job at filling out the low end, particularly in and around the two of us. I need to work on bringing out the highs a bit more, but there was plenty of tight bottom end. I even had it on a guitar stand for better dispersion.

We record pretty much everything direct and have just begun listening to the songs. Since I just ordered it the only model I've messed with is the '59 Bassman, but I ended up using three or four more models during the gig. The Bassman TV "amber" was used mostly, usually with volume between 2:00 and 3:00. No bottoming out at all, though it wouldn't have surprised me at it done so, especially a brand new speaker that still needs to get broken in.

We play Dire Strait's "Calling Elvis" and for that I went to the Rockin' Peg "amber" and it was perfect. Even my partner complimented me on the morning's tone, and that's something as a bass player for a while now I don't come to expect. So I figured the amp definitely made a sonic difference while working with my P-bass copy much better than with a previous bass I own.

All in all, I couldn't have been more pleased with my sound and am very excited to own once again the Bronco 40. Now what I wish the Fender boys would do for me and many others, I'm sure, is a Bronco bass floor pedal, reminiscent of the Mustang floor pedal. I asked for this over a year ago and am glad I didn't hold my breath. That way I could get these same great tones for my large-venue rig. That and a reasonably-priced (aka Squier) P-bass for left-handers and I'd be a happy musician. What say Fender?

Thanks again, Modwiz, for the interest. I'd enjoy reading other testimonials from those of you who have gone beyond bedroom noodling and have ventured out with your Bronco 40. IMHO, this amp is excellent for rehearsals, small gigs, and possibly medium-sized gigs where you have FOH.
