Mine would be a 500 watts Class D combo at 4 ohms into one 15" Eminence Neo and one 10" Eminence neo with one Foster horn and a quality crossover, front cab porting, tube preamp, built in adjustable optical compressor, 6 band sliding EQ system on each channel, one active input with flat voicing plus passive input with vintage voicing and each have separate channels. Either a built in tuner or a tuner mute switch, tuner/preamp out jack, XLR direct out with adjustable level, power amp in jack, integral tilt back legs, birch cab, total weight under 60 lbs with wheels. No fans, no flashing red lights in the cab porting either please! But I would want it to say FENDER on the front and come with a ten year warranty! Put the Fender traditional grill cloth on it framed in black Tolex. Oh and retail is under $800. LOL

I like most of your specs but mine would be a bit different:
- 300+ watts Class D combo into one 15" Eminence (not necessarily Neo and no 10" speaker)
- horn with crossover,
- front cab porting,
- no tube preamp (tubes are too unreliable, I am really down on tubes)
- built in adjustable compressor (not necessarily optical)
- classic Fender tone stack for one input with attenuator switch for passive/active basses
- flat voicing and gain control for second input and RCA inputs (allows plugging in microphone for emergency situations/practice or plugging in iPod).
- built-in tuner (just like the B-DEC)
- mute switch
- tuner/preamp out jack,
- XLR direct out with adjustable level with pre/post and ground lift switches
- power amp-in jack
- headphone jack (just in case)
- handle
- wheels
- cover included
- 5-year warranty
- retail under $800 (street price like $395-$495).

And, regarding the B-DEC, I would like to see an iPad app with all the B-DEC functionality that I could use with my own amp.

I really like the front porting idea.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like a big deal until you find yourself tucked in a tight spot up against a wall. Then, a rear port doesn't work so well.

If you could have only one bass amp. What features and specs would this perfect amp have? It could be a combo or a stack but remember you have to take it to rehearsals as well as gigs because, remember, you can only have one.

Dudes what part of that statement you not getting???????????????????????????????????????
He was asking that Questionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
man you guys really need to read better.
Again the one and only bass amp if i had to choose would be a B-DECIII if fender made one.

I think it is fair to say that we read and understood the question perfectly.
After all, we were talking about features and specs.

It seems you haven't answered the original question.
What are the features and specs of your B-DECIII?

he did not specify if you could only have one rumble bass amp.
and yes your correct i did not answer the specs as it really wouldn't matter fender has dropped the b-dec line and now has dropped the g-dec series sadly probably the greatest advancement in the amplifier industry in years.
As for oximorons comment i have as much right as anyone else to state my opinions in this forum so act like an adult and stop calling people names and if you do not like a comment made by someone ignore it.

By that logic, your own logic, you should not have posted the above. You don't like what he's saying...

Well CONGRATS to you! That's great news. A new bass would be great, but a child? Don't get no better than that.

If I were playing arena rock today the perfect amp is already available in Fender's Super Bassman & matching retro-look cabs.

But for smaller venues like bars and such, I really like Fender's 1 X 12" Eminence cabs in the Rumble line. I also like Genz Benz's various cabs designed around the 12" Eminence Neo woofers.

I like the three tube pre-amp of the Genz Benz Streamliners (600 & 900). The tube driven gain stage is HOT! The amps are small and light. Sound great, and cost oh, a grand or thereabouts. Amp only. This amp with one or two 12" speakers would be KILLER! But here we are easily in the Two Thousand Dollar range.

That's why I just bought a Fender Rumble 75 Combo. $250 at Musician's Friend. Sounds great to my ears. Fits in my lifespace. Makes me smile when I play through it, and puts some fun in my life. Perfect.

I'd expect to see a lighter amp (with wheels on sort of like a stroller type) .. has a recording capability via usb and a di output.. for power I wouldn't ask for more than high power since my set up always has straight di sent to the P.A.
