I did an around about on my amp. The Bassman 500, and the Bassman 115 Neo. For my playing, it works.

I'm using a Bassman 410 Neo, in place of the 115 Neo. I also ordered a Super Bassman to replace the Bassman 500 head. I was able to play a Super Bassman through the 410 Neo. Outstanding sounds.

The tube head does have a good sound to it.

I'm back to using a Super Bassman.

I take it you had to sell the other Jazz bass you had to pay for it, or you have something else planned?

It's going to help the cost of it, but also, I just got to the point that the USA Geddy Lee Jazz impressed me enough to keep it as my one bass.

You should have a whole wall of them and test your house's foundation. I'm sure the dogs and neighbors would love that, too. :P

I've been using the Vintage Channel more than the Overdrive Channel lately. I like the 60's sound it puts out through the Bassman 410 Neo.

Sounds cool. 8) I know this is non Fender, but how does the Hofner sound through it? I haven't had a chance to ask you about it since your site is gone.

Well hey Paul, I know you. Yeah the site was kinda cool. Actually your question is very Fender. The Hofner going through the Bassman amp sounds great. I'm using LaBella (.50, .65, .80, .100) flats on it. The Hofner Humbuckings play well in a tube amp head. It's nice to play a hollow body violin bass through a tube head again. It's been 45 years since I played a hollow body with a tube head.

Just think, if you had 12" speakers, you'd practically have the same rig as Paul McCartney did on the rooftop gig, except 300 watts instead of 50. I'm pretty sure those were 12"s with the Bassman rigs during that time period, weren't they? I think they had the 15" speaker cabs right after, didn't they? When they went over to silver face design.

That sounds pretty cool, by the way. 8)
