You'd have to wonder what the price tag would be on it if were to be a production amp.

I don't know. I suppose it would depend on where it's made, and how it's made, etc. You know it's going to be a few grand, judging by the prices of most of your custom tube amp builders, or even companies like Hiwatt.

I always wondered how Hiwatt is still around, and not Sunn. I guess Hiwatt is still big in the UK, and other markets.

Yeah, they are pretty iconic in the UK. There's actually more than one company that flies the Hiwatt banner, with other brands started by former Hiwatt designers, like Reeves amps, and there's something like Hi-Tone, which are copies of the amp.

Yeah, and in our backyard, Fender's 300 Watt Pro Bass Amp, and some off the Super Bassman's makeup. Thanks to the copy of Sunn.

Yeah, I remember the last go around with Sunn and Fender got a hold of them and mothballed them. Those Fender amps that came out around that time were just rebadged Sunn amps. I remember the 300 watt all tube, and that 1200 watt SS model, but then Fender came out with other models based around those designs in the 800 and 600 watt ranges, and those Bassman models, which were before the 2nd generation Rumbles came out, and I got into that game. I did actually look at one of those earlier Bassman models, though. They had them in a music shop my girlfriend and I went into in Providence. Come to think of it, I think that place might still be around, even though so many aren't.

The Bassman Combo Amps were really good. The (1X10 I think was 100 or 150 watts), (1X12 300 watts), (1X15 250 watts), and the (2X10 250 watts), were powerful, and made to well.
They were dropped and then the first Rumble series emerged to replace them. I bought one of the first series Rumble 100, or 150 what ever it was, a 1X15. My opinion, it was total garbage. At least the one I had.

Yeah, oddly enough, I was looking at the 100 watt model with the 10" speaker, because it was cheap, and I was just using an old Peavey 50 watt combo, and it was just me and my girlfriend using electronic backing music with keyboards, at the time. I said oddly enough, because I'm using a rig 10 times the wattage of that, and even the Rumble is 4 times the wattage, with an extra 10" speaker. I imagine if I went with that amp, it would have been problematic because of playing with loud guitarists, unless they wound up using smaller amps. It would have been fine for home use, or small room type situations, though.

I remember those 1st generation Rumble amps. The biggest one was 100 watts with a 15" speaker (the one you probably had,) and then a 2 x 10" 100 watt version, and they had those red disco lights on the bottom of them that went off when you played. For some bizarre reason, I wanted one of those because of that. :P I guess I thought that would be fun for a bang around the house practice amp, but I wouldn't gig with it, unless I had no choice. I've had to use a cheesy solid state guitar head for my bass at one point, since that's all I had to use, because my Ampeg was crapping out that I had, and I was totally broke. It was better than nothing, I suppose.

I really did like those Bassman Combos. The 300 watt 12" sharp amp. It seemed like for a while, Fender was dropping the amps I was interested in. On that note, I guess I did ok by getting the Bassman setup before they cancel any part of it.

I remember they had a couple of heads and cabs as part of the series, too. Maybe it was one head, I forget. I remember it was 350 watts, and went to 500 in 2 ohms, and there was a 2 x 10" combo like that. There might have also been a 200 or 250 watt head, too, but that could have been something else. I'll bet they might have the old catalogs on the site still. They used to, before they changed the site years ago. I'm going to look, just out of curiosity.

I think one of the Combos was a 600 watt head, with the head being a removable head from the combo's cab.

You know, that also sounds familiar, too. It might have been one of the later amps before they discontinued the series.

It was during the time of the 1200 watt Fender Amplification Series was out. A 2X10, 600 watts, @ 4 ohms, and the head of the Combo was removable. Pretty expensive, if I remember so.

Yeah, I remember that, too. They also had a 2 x 15" cab to go along with all of that, which I thought was cool.

Absolutely right. Those were some nice cabs they had.
