Oh yeah, I remember that one. Weren’t those some sort of special edition basses?

They're more of a Fender Spl. Run made for GC. It's really a well thought out, and fine made bass. A Precision PJ, with a Maple Jazz neck, and board. I like the Sea Foam Pearl finish too. Funny, but I do like playing long scales over short scales anymore.

I have to say, Jazz necks are really playable, especially for a long scale, if you're used to a short scale.

You're right about it being a Spl. Edition as Fender names it a Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision.

I'm gambling by now they're working ok. There are a lot of them being used now.

Well, you can always return it, if you have any issues. Hopefully, you won't this time, and you'll have a decent rig to jam out with. 8)

I'm in a way thinking I don't need the hassles of the tubes. They sound good, but when they start to crap out, it's a problem.

You do have a point about that, plus they aren't exactly cheap to deal with.

It would have to go into the shop for tube bias issues. I'm not going to get a backup amp as an insurance for if, and when the tube amp would go into the shop. Image

By the way, what about the Bassman 800? Weren't you originally mentioning that one? I know it costs $200 more, but it does have an extra 300 watts, as well.

Availability on the 800 isn't that great, and I can't really cough up the extra $260. with the governor's tax on it. I would've had 500 watts @ 8 ohms, but with the 500, 350 watts @ 8 ohms is more than I need. There are enough settings on it, and the front end has enough with it's pre amp tubes.

That's true. It's not like you're playing Madison Square Garden, and 350 watts isn't exactly some bedroom practice amp power level, unlike what they think over at the other site. :P

This 500 is great. It works, and sounds super. I think I did the right move on the 500, with the 115 NEO.

Sounds like it. I remember that you did like the previous ones, but then they developed that issue. You might not have even moved on from them, if that didn't happen in the first place.
