Yeah, you could definitely say that.

I was playing the PJ Precision today, at a low volume. I'm getting very spoiled with the 15" Neo. I love the sound of the PJ Precision it's bringing out. I was never to keen on 15" speakers for lower volume playing. There just didn't seem to be enough air pushing out the sound. My mind is definitely changed.

There's something about the Precision pickup that works so well with a 15" speaker, I think. It's almost like they were tailored for each other, even though there are other speaker sizes that people would think the same thing.

That sure does seem to be a design in a way. I'm very satisfied with the results of at least my Precision, with a 15".

You ever think about getting another 15" cab, or is that overkill?

This 115 Neo is just right actually. @ 8 Ohms, I'm getting a good 350 watts with the Bassman 500. True, I could get 500 watts @ 4 ohms with a second cab, but I really don't need it. This is better than the 140 watts I'd get out of a Rumble 200 Combo @ 8 ohms. And with the 200, I'd need a external cab to get to 200 watts @ 4 ohms out of the 200 Combo. "I'm trucking along super fine", as we used to say. My Bassman Half Stack, is my way to go.

True, you would also have to fork over another $650 for another one of those cabs, unless you got a deal on it somewhere. I suppose the only advantage that you'd have with an extra one is if you wanted to have a split stereo rig going on with one 15" cab on one side of the room, and the other 15" on the other. I've done that before when I had two 15" cabs. It wouldn't work with my 18" and 2 x 10" cabs, though. That's one thing that I regret about my cab set up. It's pretty limited what I can do with it, other than running them both stacked on each other.

The extra cab would be $650., and I don't need a stack. The 350 watts with the half stack is more than I really need, but having the power to bump up the volume a bit is welcomed. The
Super Bassman would've been 300 watts @ 8, 4, or 2 ohms. So I'm doing fine with the Bassman 500 @ 8 ohms 350 watts.

Yeah, I'd say so. Thinking about what I was talking about with the two 15" cab set up, there's a part of me that wishes that I'd gone with that. I'm not saying I don't like my 18" cab, but I probably could have gotten more out of that with versatility. Maybe I can someday be able to pick up a couple of those cabs, although I seriously doubt I could sell the ones I have, or if I really would want to, other than maybe the 2 x 10" cab, and replace it with a 15" or even a 12" cab. Something I could also use on it's own.

12's, or 15's Work fine. I wish Fender would've turned out a Bassman 212 Neo cab.

The funny thing is they used to have 2 x 12" Bassman cabs, but obviously not like bass cabs of today. I wonder how well those cabs would work if you put in modern bass speakers?

They would work fine. Bassman 2X12 cabs were so well built. The 2X15, and 2X12 Bassman cabs did fine with almost any brand speaker in them. Just too damn expensive. The 2X12 cab did have a nice punch, and weren't over sized.

The strange thing was they made a 2 x 15" speaker cab to go with the Showman head, which I don't think was marketed to be a bass amp, although people used it for one, since it actually had more power than the Bassman did, plus I'm sure those speakers probably handled bass a lot better. You'd have thought that should have been the Bassman instead.

Those Showman, and Dual Showman were a dynamic amp. Yes on the increased power, and the speakers were a bit heavier back then. At least the Showman series was an upgraded Fender amp. It had a for real stage presence.
