So it's been awhile. What is the community consensus on the new 100T and Super Bassman? I've been gigging my 550X and old series Pro 115s for almost a decade now. Looks like I might be getting a really nice bonus come the end of the year from my employer and just picked up a nice white blonde AVS 57 RI Precision that I've dressed up with a 10 hole tort guard. I'm thinking that the Blonde/Oxblood 100T with Matching 410 might make the perfect compliment and look SUPER sharp on stage. I want to treat myself, but that's a lot of cash and I need some really solid reviews. SO, let me have it!

Roll With It! Agree with the Blonde/Oxblood color combo. I'd vote for the Neo 610 as it is a 4 ohm cab vs 8 ohms for 410. It will wring out the very best from the Bassman 100t. Plus if you ever need to, you can just pop a Super Bassman on top. Nice to have options.

Good thinking! Thanks!

Good to know! Thanks for you help! I generally am a late adapter for this reason. I figure if you wait a while to get a new product it gives the manufacturer time to make any necessary adjustments on feedback, and to let the lemons sort themselves out.

You Sir are so right about sitting back for a short time to let them get the kinks out.

Bear in mind that I am not recommending any particular dealer, but you can have guitar center deliver it to your local GC rather than your house. That way they can see what condition it is in as well. I do recommend calling the local store manager to advise him/her it is on the way.

But here we are a couple years out and I have not seen any recent negative reviews. I figure this forum would be full of bad reviews if quality control were letting all lemons come out of the factory.

Let us know how it works out for you...

What's with the eyeroll? Making adjustments to manufacturing specifications to eliminate failures is a pretty standard practice. In any industry.

Will do. It's going to be awhile anyway. So I'll have more opportunity to watch reviews and get feedback. I hate giving GC the business over my local shops. My locals are usually really good about ordering things.

As long as your locals are good, roll with 'em.

Awesome! I've been toying with the idea of going full out on the Super Bassman. When you're talking the price difference between the two you sure are getting a lot of bang for your buck with the upgrade. I've missed my old 74 Bassman tube head since I sold it. Every gig. I can't wait to get back to full Fender tube tone either way. Thanks for the feedback!

The SB300 is simply AWESOME. I was looking for a Ampeg SVT-VR - here in Australia these are REALLY pricey... good thing as I might have bought one if not & the SB300 is much better - Then the Fender SB300 was available & thanx to a couple of very experienced bassists recommending the SB300, I chose it. Thank goodness!!!

The Fender WILL cop the SVT-VR tone easily but then you've got the 2nd channel. A whole nother world!!

I like good clean tube tone & headroom & this'll do it in spades. Was tempted to the 100T but with the clean headroom & thick lush-ness of the SB300 it was a no-brainer.
Sure glad i DID

Awesome. Personally, I never been a fan of Ampeg. Nothing against them. They are a quality company, but I've just always preferred the Fender tube sound better. Interesting that the SB300 can get you close. Great to hear good reviews. Honestly, I'll probably always run on the vintage channel, but options are always great to have. You never know what you'll run into, right? The SB300 is very tempting, and I'm really debating on going that way, too. Having all that power for what amounts to only a couple of hundred bucks more seems like a no brainer.

It's only money baby! It's not like you can spend it in the hereafter. Besides which if you don't go ahead and spring for the Super Bassman it will always nag at you. Day-After-Day. Year-After-Year.

Just revisiting this. According to their specs both heads have impedance switching. (8,4,2) So couldn't one just get the Super Bassman and the single 8 ohm 410? Or is there more to it? Is there a wattage cut? For instance with my 550X when I run a single 8ohm cab it puts out 375 Watts, and the full 550 when running two. Or does the impedance switching enable the full wattage no matter what ohm configuration is selected?

Yeah, the 410 will work just fine with no problem. Only 50 pounds or so vs the 610's 90 pounds and half the price, but you do have to stoop down to adjust your controls.
