Yeah, totally. It's almost the sound of 1965.

Doug Ingle of the Iron Butterfly did well with a Vox. It had a good sound on it for not being a Hammond B3, and was easier to move than the B3.

I'll bet it was. Those Hammonds were pretty hefty.

They were up there in the too much fun to move category.

Yeah, especially if you want to tack on a Leslie cab to go with it.

Leslie cabs weren't as bad, they weren't as easy to damage as a B3 was.

It's kinda' cool, how the Super Bassman pairs up as well as it does with the Ampeg SVT-212AV cab. Not that it does because it's an Ampeg, the 212's make it. Like I've mentioned before, if Fender did a Bassman 212 Neo, that would be a total SLAMMER. But they won't, it makes to much sense from the Bassman's of the past.

Yeah, that would be a cool cab to have. Hell, even a 4 x 12" cab would be quite snazzy, but I suspect you'd more likely see the 2 x 12" configuration for bass, if anything.

412 Cabs are a real serious piece of stage gear. The 12's put out serious air, and some magnificent sounds. The old Marshall's held their own with 12's, and no PA.

Yeah, that's exactly the cabs I had in mind when I think of those 4 x 12" ones. 8)

To me backstage, there was nothing like the blair of Marshall stacks, about as loud as they could go. No PA, just Marshall LOUD! "Jim Marshall, The Lord Of Loud".

I just realized why I'm so partial to the Fender Super Bassman, over other tube amps. Fender tube amps have the Sunn tube sound to them. Since Fender used the Sunn designs before trashing Sunn, I like to feel that a bit Sunn lives on in my Super Bassman.

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. I imagine even the 300 watt tube amp they had before this one was even more like that because it was pretty much a rebadged version of the Sunn amp that was out beforehand. There was that, and the 1200 watt SS model. You remember those? They even had a 2 x 15" cab.

Absolutely right. The 2X15 cab was the complete Sunn setup. Felix knew that too.

Yeah, I've only had the chance to play through Peavey 2 x 15" cabs, but they are a killer set up. Oh wait, there was also the Ampeg Iso Vent cab, which also had 2 x 15"s, and 2 x 10"s. The 15"s were stacked facing each other, angled down, while the 10"s were angled up on top of the cab. It was a pretty compact set up. Lot of low end out of that thing.

Some pretty unique designs for sure.
