The Acoustics in the late '60s, and early '70s turned a lot of heads.

And gave chiropractors plenty of business. :P Still, I'm sure it shook some stages back in the day. 8)

I've got to the point with the Bassman amp, liking the sounds of Jazzes through them.

That's cool you found a sound you like. So how much of a difference is there between the three Jazz Basses?

I honestly haven't sat down with the three to compare sounds side by side, other than the USA Geddy Lee seems to have the slight edge in power, and a deeper tone, over the Am. Std., but by a slight difference. Am. Std.'s seem to have an edge with the mid tones in the mix. The Spl. Edition Jazz seems to have that 60's to 70's rock sound. Other than volume settings on the basses, I only changed the Pull for Deep Bass setting on the head, for the depth of Bass I want at that time. I've liked the preference of using the Vintage Channel, over the Overdrive Channel with the Jazzes, and the Nylon strings. My Jazzes have a bit of closer tone with all three strung with the same Nylons too.

Seeing how my Jazzes play through the Fender Bassman amp setup, I may decide to get a 12" Combo to compliment the Bassman, as a quick pick up amp for playing in another room. The Fender Rumble 100 would be the one I'd choose.

That would be a cool setup, plus having an extra amp around could be a good thing, in case you might need it for something. Speaking of 12" speakers, they have a Rumble 12" speaker cab, too. I wonder how that would sound paired with a 15" cab? I thought about that setup before because that was the speaker configuration in Paul McCartney's T60 Vox cab back in the early Beatles days.

Very interesting. I'm still holding out for a Fender Bassman Neo 2X12 cab. That would be the old style Bassman.

Or you could try to score an old 2x12" Bassman cab and slap in some new speakers like those. Of course, that might cost some $$$, depending on the cost of those cabs these days and what type of speakers you want.

It may cost more to do that than see what they may turn out in the winter show. I could always go back to an Ampeg SVT-212AV, if I really wanted the 2X12 cab.

That's true, you could do that. Have you ever tried out the Rumble 12" cabs?

No I haven't. I never seen any locally in stock. I checked out the specs on them. They're to small to work with a Super Bassman.

Really? I thought they could handle 500 watts at 8 ohms. You don't think they'd play well with your amp?

No,....... I mean physically to small in size, as compared to the SB.
