About 4 years ago I had to sell my old 74 Bassman 100W head and my 78 P bass to get the family through some tough times due to my girlfriend being out of work. I've missed playing through a tube head every gig.

Even though my SWR550X is a great hybrid head with incredible tone. Having the dynamics of a full tube head is something I miss greatly.

This Super Bassman looks to be everything I could ever want in a head. I bet it'd sound great over my two Fender Pro 115s. LOVE the fact that the silver face styling is coming back, too.

Time to start saving the gig proceeds! Well done! Might take me a bit, but this is definitely on my list. Actually, Outside of a couple more Fender basses I've always wanted I think the Super Bassman would complete my dream rig. :D

The Bassman 100T on top of the the 1X15 Cab would be enough for any bar that I would ever play. Great tone too, I'm sure. 8)

Aw, c'mon, you know you want at least 6 or 7 Super Bassmans with stacks of 15's, instead. :P That will teach any guitar player a lesson. As well as disembowel the audience. Heh.

YEAH!

 LOL

Actually I'm still waiting on Fender to have some "SUPER BASSMAN" t-shirts made up. That's something with a very high cool factor that I can afford. 8)

I used to use my old Bassman over a single Pro 115. What incredible tone. I'd go with the 100T and my 115 all day if I wasn't in a band with two guitar players who like to be loud. :(

A 100T isn't going to keep up with just one of the guitarists running a 80T Hotrod Deville 410. I'd prefer to play smaller intimate gigs, but all those fancy guitars and amps means they must have high Musician's Friend bills to pay. Which means bigger clubs, and more money. It's a vicious circle. :?

I just purchased the 100T and it is a very cool amp. Quick question, what is the flat EQ setting on the Vintage Channel?

I've heard it referred to as "vintage cut." Basically speaking, the way I read the blackface schematics, anything less than 10 is a cut. There is no bass or treble boost. (or +)

I would shoot a question out to Bluesky and see what he says. He has the degree. I really haven't had to really study a schematic or design circuit mods in about 35 years.

So guitar center accepted the broken bassman 100t amp, and sent me a replacement.

The replacement came with none of the hang tags, twice the amount of extra fuses, the power switch on and the standby switch off, all the front controls set to 10 - a total disaster. Even the box - the first one I bought was a box that was taped up, this one had metal staples to keep the box shut. I plugged it in assuming everything was set to off, and shot juice into a totally maxxed out system. Ridiculous. The automatic bias system LEDs were like a light show from a disco. 72 hours later, the channel switch failed. Two lemons in a row. It costs too much money to have to deal with this, their "Pro Series" amplifiers made in Mexico...

I want to bring this thing to Arizona and let them deal with this, as I am driving to Las Vegas next week, but I don't know how well I will be received. I need more than my old 1972 Bassman 70, but I am seriously considering Ampeg at this point in time. I professionally play every other day, and I need something more reliable, especially for the money I am spending.

I'm trying to remember my old Bassman 100 which was a 74. I don't recall there being a mid. (at least not on the bass channel) I seem to remember Bass and Treble and line volume. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

So it's been awhile. What is the community consensus on the new 100T and Super Bassman? I've been gigging my 550X and old series Pro 115s for almost a decade now. Looks like I might be getting a really nice bonus come the end of the year from my employer and just picked up a nice white blonde AVS 57 RI Precision that I've dressed up with a 10 hole tort guard. I'm thinking that the Blonde/Oxblood 100T with Matching 410 might make the perfect compliment and look SUPER sharp on stage. I want to treat myself, but that's a lot of cash and I need some really solid reviews. SO, let me have it!

Roll With It! Agree with the Blonde/Oxblood color combo. I'd vote for the Neo 610 as it is a 4 ohm cab vs 8 ohms for 410. It will wring out the very best from the Bassman 100t. Plus if you ever need to, you can just pop a Super Bassman on top. Nice to have options.

Older reviews on the net appear to highlight QC issues but all of the newer reviews are positive. I would go for it. JMO
