I have a Bassman 400, the one with only one speaker output. I want to know if I can use a splitter to connect to the 4-ohm cabinet speakers of the bassman and also to another 4-ohm 18-inch speaker cabinet. I play a bass with active electronics but in a small church building at very low volume settings. I only play for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. Will connecting both speakers (reducing the resistance to 2 ohms) damage or overheat my amplifier?

I have seen others say that the Bassman 400 will run at 2 ohms even though it is rated at 4 ohms minumum. Could you confirm this?

It should be labeled what the minimum load is. The minimum load is the minimum load.
If it is 4 ohms you can one one 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs. Instead of splitting, daisy chain.
