Good News and thanks for the update.

Too bad that an end user has to do the engineering upgrading rather than the factory that these are made in or the company that has their name on the product taking care of it.

It is too bad. There is only one language that decision makers in corporations understand. Not buying their products. If we will buy crap, they are too happy to sell it to us. Caveat emptor.

Don't even get me started on corporate culture and sociopathy.

Parasitic oscillation is usually the sign of a failed capacitor. Replace C-38 and a few others if necessary.

My Rumble 25 has the same crackle sound.

I've traced it with an occiloscope to the LM3876 chip. I replaced the LM3876 with a new one. No change.

Also I don't have a C38 either. It only goes up to C37.

I downloaded what I thought was the schematic from fender and it seems different from the amp I have. For one there is no before mentioned U6 LM3876 ic. The schematic has U5 TDA1514A.

My Rumble 25 is the one with black fuzzy carpet outside covering and a metal grill.

Could someone here guide me to the correct schematic? I've searched all over with no luck.

Thanks

I don't see a way to attach a file here. Email me at jimi@whidbey.com and I will email you the one I have. My Rumble 25 also was the carpeted one with the metal grill. Be sure to put "Rumble 25" in the email title because I normally don't open emails from people I don't know.

3 years later I'm going to try your idea. I have replaced the U6 and also the u3 but the ditortion is nthe same. I'll try your idea of changing and upgrading C38 and C21 to 10mfd. Thanks...
