These are reportedly all-tube self-biasing heads with Neo-speaker cabs, at least in the prototypes pictured. I still say NAMM in January.

That'd be my guess as well.

Not sure what you mean by Neo-speaker cabs. Hopefully, they will be designed for bass, unlike the cabs of the 60's.

Neodymium magnets for the speakers, Art. Ultra-light and (so they allege) ultra-powerful.

Ahhhh. I knew that. Duh! But I still hope these are designed specifically for bass. The cabs of the 60's were a compromise at best.

Indeed they were. Which is why Sunn, Ampeg, and Acoustic Research cleaned FMI's clock during that era when it came to performance.

Sad to say, I feel much the same, But Sunn is no more, and Ampeg has ticked off more than a few people. I guess it depends on the tone and the build of the cabs. I'll be looking forward to giving one a workout.

Now then, if they are hiding a balanced direct out on the back..... 8)

I might have to get the 100 with matching cab, then dedicate my '69 Bassman and VT 15 cab to guitar.

We'll know soon enough at the official unveiling.

I suspect these new platforms will be equipped with modern features.

On talkbass Tom Bowlus has reveiled some details like:

100, 200 and 300 watt versions, with autobias and direct-outs + line-out.
The cabs will be with neo speakers in 4x10, 6x10 and 8x10 versions with grillcloth.

I'm waiting for the 200watt version :-)

A pity that there are no cabs offered with 15-inch speakers. Something like the old Sunn 200S enclosure would produce truly palpable bass frequencies.

I was hoping for 15s as well. Not that I'm complaining. I'm happy to see a Fender amp that looks like a Fender amp. 8) As long as it's got some balls to go with the looks, I'm good.

We can hope that if it's a succussful line of amps, they will add a 15" alternative cab.
