I recieved a Bronco 40 from an online retailer with the outer shipping box retaped and a sticker on the box stating "This package was opened at our facility for quality control and to add packaging for protection before shipping".
It the shipping box the amp was packaged without the normal 4 color display carton that is typical of how the Mustangs and G-DEC3 amps are shipped. The plastic wrap around the amp had also been opened.
My first inclination and action was to return the amp and request a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement came the same way. (different serial number, it was not the same unit as the first time)
I would be interested in any comments about this from Fender. I do not understand why if the package was opened and inspected at the reseller, why was the display box not included with the item actually shipped. Or for some reason perhaps Fender is not shipping the product with the display carton at this time.

Every ounce of packing material adds to the overal S&H costs.

hi jdormal,

If the packaging is indicating that we (Fender) opened it, inspected it, and added additional packaging, then that will be accurate information. I would not worry about there being so much packaging material added that it added to your shipping costs. We insure that the packaging meets our requirements so that the unit can travel safely, and arrive intact. If you bought the amp from an authorized Fender dealer, and keep a copy of your receipt, that will qualify you for our warranty coverage.

Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
