I've fooled around with the old model B-DEC a few times and always came away impressed. Now that I'm considering a new practice amp, the B-DEC is gone.

Fender, you have a great concept in the X-DEC amps - look at how well the guitar models are doing. Are you ever going to come out with a new bass version?

75 or so watts and a 12" in a tiltback cabinet!

I just ordered a used one, thus guaranteeing announcement of a new model three days after my return privilege expires.

I, too, have been wondering what's up with the B-DEC.

I have the original B-DEC. I don't use it much but I won't sell it. It is perfect for small get-togethers.

Also, one outstanding feature of the B-DEC was the method book that came with it. It provided music for the built-in tracks with chords and other information. The G-DEC never provided anything like this.

Just go for the Bronco 40, better sounding than the Bdc.

really are you kidding?
The bronco is a kids toy not worth the money.
I was totally unimpressed with the bronco 40.
I could only imagine what the b-dec 3 series could have offered.
Please before you make a comment read the other treads i posted and you would know why the bronco falls short.
As for the sounding better remark if they had of brought out the b-dec 3 when they introduced the g-dec3 you could have patched it into any mixing board as well used the amp as a monitor.

I sure hope so! I can't speak for anyone else, but as a "beginner" bassist at age 58, this little amp has taught me more than all the books and DVDs I've acquired COMBINED. I had to search high and low to find one, but I did find a NOS one in the back of a music store. I got it for half the original MSRP.

I love being able to hear so many different sounds of my bass, utilizing the special features. It's almost like having a showroom full of stompboxes to play around on, but not having to pay extra to own them! I can't speak for the G-DEC, but the manuals on the B-DEC are VERY complete and informative. Each time I pick one up, I learn something new.

Fender, are you listening? Bass Players WANT this amp! Someday, if I ever get good enough, the B-DEC will be my stage monitor amp.

thank you i was beginning to think i was the only one who cared,
the b-dec was good but if they introduce the b-decIII series it would be that much more,
OH i have a question for you about the b-dec is the fuse software fully compatible with it?
I had some questions about the b-dec30 in that regard.

I have one. I am sorry to say I have hardly ever used it. :( Nothing to do with the product, I just have been busy with the gig rig. When I have time to woodshed, I am attempting to acquire double bass skills or working on new music acoustically (in a quite room) with the electric.

The b-dec30 is a good amp and a lot of fun do take some time to play around with it im sure you will appreciate the amp.
If any of you can take the time go look at the g-decIII and if your local distributor is up on what it is capable of then your in for a real eye opener.
That was the issue right from the start with the b-dec and g-dec series the marketing wasnt handled well not from a fender promotional standpoint but from a distributor level.
they were so technologically advanced it was a hard concept to grasp as well time consuming to learn for a local distributor.
Not to mention if you can imagine the time a dealer would have to spend with each customer just to explain what the amp can do it just wasn't possible, especially in busier stores how could a dealer possibly take an hour or so out of his time when there are several other customers waiting.

actually awesome idea
but that would be fenders job to help their dealers to come up with inovative ideas to showcase their product.
I talk to my local music store dealer about this a lot and its not easy for dealers.
