Hello Bass Forum members! I believe I have yet to visit you all :)

Just thought I'd share my recent purchase - an Ampeg Micro-VR w/ matching 210 cabinet:

Overall I am very pleased with it and the volume level seems just right for what I need it for. With it I am breaking just about every 'rule' that I can think of - solid state/mini-stack/Made in China - but that's fine with me

It sounds excellent with my 50's Precision and I couldn't be happier

MICRO-VR HEAD
Preamp: Solid State
Power Amp: MOSFET
RMS Power Output: 200watts @ 4ohms
Tone Controls: 3-Band
Mid Tone Control: Ultra Mid
Balanced Line Out: with Pre/Post and Pad
Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 12 x 5.5 x 10
Handling Weight: 9.6 Pounds

SVT210AV CABINET
LF Driver: 2 x 10" Eminence Speakers
RMS Power Handling: 200 Watts @ 8ohms
Frequency Response (-3dB): 58Hz-5kHz
Usable Low Frequency (-10dB): 40Hz
Nominal Impedance: 1 x 8 ohms (Mono)
Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 13 x 24 x 11
Handling Weight: 25.9 Pounds

Mind you, with the amp and single extension cabinet you really only achieve 150W. It's possible to daisy-chain an additional cab for the full 200W, as well as the additional output.

EDIT:
Picture is now up. By the way, this amp was 1 of 2 which I purchased the other day:

Oh yeah. The whole stack only weighs 35.5 pounds. Simplified transport is always appreciated 8)

I'd say the wattage is pretty exaggerated. The volume levels are very useable for practice.
