Been looking for a vinyl cover for a Rumble 350. Has Fender released one yet? Or is there a place that anyone knows of where a custom sized cover can be ordered\made? Thanks for your thoughts, tips, and suggestions.

Combo or Head?

These folks have them for the 350 2x10 combo. They also do all custom sizes. For Fender they are usually black with the white felt interior. :) like the ones I used in the 60's. But they have various colors and will even do piping if you want.

http://store.amplifiercovers.com/ I'm not necessarily endorsing them, but they make covers for everything and that's where I ended up getting the cover for my '69 Bassman. Well made cover

Just saw your other post and it sounds like you have the 2X10 combo which the ampcover folks already have on their price list.

Thanks for your reply Art. My name is Doug. Yes, you are correct. I am buying the combo. Back when I (and probably you too) was in my beginner and intermediate stages, bigger was better, right? Used to drag around a ton of stuff to go play for an hour somewhere. haha My grand babbies remind me daily that I aint getting any younger. The power to size ratio is a winning combo to me.

Thanks for the tip on the amp covers. I'm on my way.

Yes, maybe that is why I got a Twin and then a 40x30 cabinet for the 69 Bassman. So happy that somebody invented the wheel way back when. :D

Hi Doug,

I use BS Covers http://bscovers.com/ on the combos I have now. I've bought two so far. While I'm not exactly an endorsing artist either, I would endorse their covers if they made me an offer! They are made out of HEAVY waterproof fabric that is pretty much the same waterproof material used on the outside of a instrument gig bag. Each cover is made to order so allow 3 to 4 weeks. These thick fabric covers are better than vinyl covers in my opinion. They are embroidered with the specific amp model they are made to fit which is a classy touch and also a useful feature when you have a bunch of BS covers piled in a corner at a rehearsal or gig. Very, very rugged construction and material. They list one for the Rumble 350 2x10 and it is like $37 plus shipping which is less than the $50 plus shipping vinyl cover solution previously offered in this thread. A very nice custom made in USA product.

Another awesome cover solution that I used on a combo I previously owned was a TUKI cover. http://tukicovers.com/index.html Tuki makes thickly padded foam covers that have a strap that is permanently attached on one side which goes under the bottom of the amp to secure it with Velcro on the other side. The padding on a Tuki cover offers more protection against bumps than a BS Cover but cost a lot more. A Tuki for an amp that size would be about 80 to 100 dollars. Even though they don't list the Rumble 350 2x10 on the product page it is my experience that they often are behind in the cover models available on the website but you can phone or email them for a quote and they'll get right back to you. Sometimes yours might be the prototype for that model! If you want more protection than a Tuki you'd have to get a road case made. Tuki covers are pricey, but do offer the best protection of any soft cover. They are durable too. Again allow 3 to 4 weeks for fabrication of a custom made in USA cover from Tuki.

Lastly, HEFTY trash bags. http://heftybrands.pactiv.com/ I have used them inverted (put on from the top down) in place of a cover for 20 years and they are just as good as a vinyl cover. They don't look as good as a custom cover, but do offer solid protection from rain and also from dust during storage. Cheap and disposable too! And you can use them to clean up the stage after the gig if the rain has stopped. They are flexible enough that you don't need holes for handles as you can grip the handles just fine through the plastic so they are the most waterproof cover available. I keep a couple of these in my gear bag in case it is POURING rain when moving my gear. Every combo I ever had has handles on top and there is an opening in custom covers for the handles of course. Handle holes on a custom cover would allow rain to at least get to the handle area which is too close for comfort to the electronics, so I whip out the Hefty from my gear bag and cover the whole shebang with an inverted Hefty trash bag placed over the amp and custom cover. One size fits most!

I need to check those bscovers.

Yeah, and if you have a really big cabinet and a pickup, the Hefty leaf and lawn bags are great.

I just like the vinyl because they are vintage style. Got one for my 69 Bassman. For the newer amps, the BS covers might look kind of cool.

Neglected to mention that TUKI is now also making Naugahyde vinyl covers. If vinyl is what you want they might be worth a look.
