hi, just bought a bassman 250 115 combo, and was wondering what the difference is between using the send line out on the back verses the xlr level line out on the front to send a signal to another combos power amp in socket?
secondly , the slave amp doesn't respond to any post gain volume changes, so does that mean the slave power amp is set to full volume automatically? thanks anyone , chris

There are two potential differences between the XLR line out and the Effects Send Output:
1) With the Pre/Post switch in the Pre position, the XLR outputs a signal that is unaffected by
all of your tone controls (however, it is affected by the input volume control).
The Effects Send Output is always affected by your tone controls.
2) With the Pre/Post switch in the Post position, the XLR output also includes some signal
from your Effects Return Input (with the level determined by the FX Blend control).
The Effects Send Output obviously does not include signal from the Effects Return Input.

I'm not sure I understand your second question. What do you mean by "post gain volume change"?

The master gain on your Bassman 250 affects the internal power amplifier gain. It does not
affect any other output level (e.g. XLR or Send). Consequently, if you have a second amp
connected to either of these, it won't affect the level of that amp.

If you use the Bassman Line Level Output (XLR jack), you can control the slave amp directly with
the Line Level control.
