I bought a used Fender Bassman 250 (2x10) amp about 2 mos. ago,it seemed to work great, but after it's been on for about an hour, the sounds gets distorted, volume jumps up and down, etc. I have tried using different cords,a wireless system, used contact spray etc. but it keeps doing this no
matter what kind of guitar I try on it...Does anyone know what is causing this,I need help! [/list]

hey bassmac, it sounds like you have an overheating problem. Since the amp was bought used, is it possible that there is a cooling fan not working somewhere. Also, if there is a heat sink on the back, make sure it has access to ambient air, don't cover it, or push it up against the wall (experience talking). I bought a little 10 dollar oscillating fan and pointed it at the heat sink on my nemesis during really hot summer nights. Problem solved 12 yrs and counting......good luck :)
