I'm lookin' for a new rig and kinda got a chubby for the G-K 550 Fusion mated to their 4-12 NEO cab. I'm using a P-Bass mostly, occasionally plugging in my Am. Std. Jazz. I like the G-K set-up but have heard the TB 600 sounds closer to the old Bassman/SVT tone, is this true? Also, what is the best cab mated to the TB? I really like the 4-12" one cab scenario and 8-10's are just too unwieldy for me. Will I be happy with a 6-10 or will i still need a 15"? How to the two compare volume wise? Just wonderin', any suggestions will be appreciated.

Well since no one was there to talk me out of it, I pulled the trigger on the G-K rig today. The local dealer had the 4-12 NEO cab in stock, but had to order the 550 Fusion head. It should be showing up in about a week, I'll report back later.......

Well I just got back from the first "band practice" using the G-K 550 Fusion/NEO 4-12 rig. Alls I can say is OMG!!! It's everything I expected and then some. First of all, this sucker can get LOUD- there's more volume available then you'll probably ever need. The NEO cab can really move some air too!
It may not be an SVT, but gets very damn close. Warm & buttery with the right amount of "growl" put me in P-Bass heaven. G-K did their homework and the tube pre-amp makes all the difference. Now I have an amp that really responds to the touch from gentle to aggresive. Having the separate channel settings available at the click of the footswitch is fantastic. I have one set for "fingerstyle" and the other for picking if I (rarely) need it.
Unless you need to fill stadiums, this will do everything you need out of a live rig. I'm glad I got it!

I have the tb600c and so far I think its great. I am really new to the "TUBE" thing and the Fender "PASSIVE TONE STACK". There is a lot more to it than my old solid state rig. This amp is way too loud for the room I have it in and I am finding it hard to dial in the tone I want. I know its there, I just need to play with it for a bit.
