Played one this afternoon @ GC, and was pleasently surprised. The tone was pure Fender, didn't take much to dial it right in.

The Behringer bxl3000 was pure junk. Never gonna cross Fender again.
Stay with the original......Fender. Even though SS rather than the vintage original '72 Bassman 100 I've been using for years, the sound was so sublime.

It's really the only amp you could need for recording strong-clean bass.

Anyone else here use this same model?

I have the 250/115 version since I've always been partial to bass amps with 15" speakers after growing up with the old Kustoms and flip top Ampegs. I would have liked to had a chance to try out an Ampeg B200R but nobody had one in the area. I wanted something a little better than the Rumble or the BA series since it will probably be the last bass amp I will buy. I am able to get the deep bass sound I like with my Jazz bass and an even better sound with my Rivoli re-issue through an external eq pedal. I did try out the 2-10 version and it had a little more punch and definition, but like I said, I like 15" combos.

I tested both - the 250-115 and the 250-210. I chose the 250-210 because it just moves more 'air' than the 115. In the test room, there was a difference, but that slight difference might not be discernable to some bassists. Everyone's ears are different...LOL...

Either amp will work out very well - just a matter of how each one works for you while testing.

I use the Bassman 250/210 and really like it. Sounds good and has plenty of power.
