Seeking Information:
I have a late 50's Bassman Amp. I traded my 63 Fender Pro for the Bassman in 1964 at Hughes Muxic in Cincinnati. When I got it, it did not have 4 10's. Instead it came with two 12's and two 8's. I have asked people about this over the years. I have also examined the Amp interior. The speaker cabinet, including the front panel upon which the spekers were mounted looks to be factory installed.

Is anyone aware as to whether any custom jobs were done at the factory in the late 50's? I can't think of any good reason why someone would have retrofitted this amp in the early 60's before I traded for it.

I don't have the 8's anymore. The two original 12's are in tact and I am reinstalling them into the original cabinet. The sound from this amplifier remains fantastic. the mid range and presence controls make the amp superior in tone quality.

Your comments are most welcome.
