I found about about this thread while looking for reviews on the Fender TV fifteen and I can't believe how many opinions are out there from people that don't own or have not even played the amp.

Guess what I own an all tube amp, and with the cab my Ampeg SVT head and SVT cab come to about three hundred pounds.
I was looking for a combo for all the gigs I play that aren't stadiums that don't require me having to lug around my rig only to have to play it at volume knob level one.
So I went the brand loyalty route and purchased the Ampeg B200r and let me tell you right now it sucked more than any other amp I have ever owned right up there with the cheap peavy combos. The only difference is that it looked cool, but that came to an end first gig when large parts of the tolex peeled off because of the heat from the electronics and I found out it was paper thin.

I brought the ampeg amp back after my first show because it was beyond anything I am use to sound and quality wise.

I saw the TV fifteen at the shop and right away was taken aback by the awesome tweed covering and I felt it and it was super thick and it had that classic bassman look feel to it that stands out in a room full of amps, then I played it and within a minute I bought it.

I own this amp and I am just as stoked to play it as I am my ampeg SVT set up.
It looks classy and I get tons of feedback about it from everyone that sees it.
It sounds amazing at loud levels and has a great tone and I use it for all the styles of playing I love like rock, funk, reggae, folk, jazz.
If anyone is going to complain make it about the fact that it's made in MEXICO!
There are no other faults on this amp...none.

If you can't get an amazing tone out of this amp for what ever style you want to play don't blame the amp.

Name another amp that even comes close to looking as cool.
I will never get rid of this amp and look forward to rocking it fifty years from now.

I just reread my last post and I hope I didn't come across too agro, I wrote it at 2 in the morning while fighting off a flu.

I have tried a few of the TV series amps and find the 350 watt ones are absolutely gig worthy for any sized venue.
I saw the Black Crows in concert and the bass player was using the single 15 and they sounded classic.
5 strings are a tough sell on many amps but they work fine on my 15, didn't break up and sounded great, I was just slapping and popping and thumping and then I wound down with some palm muting now I'm just taking it easy.

I just want to stress the classic look, sound and feel of this amp, the tweed is awesome and I am constantly petting it to feel it under my fingers, and it matches my tweed cases, all I need now is a tweed suit and I'll be set.

I have this amp and my Ampeg SVT-VR and matching cab side by side and this amp holds it's own.

I am beyond exited about the wheels and the simplicity of plug and play and it's size. It's bigger than it looks in pictures but small enough to carry to any show hassle free.
I have been lugging my SVT's to way to many undersized shows and now I know that won't be happening again and I am stoked.

If I can ask a question I was wondering why most reviews show this amp not having a cab out option as a negative thing.
The reason I ask is because I would never see myself in a scenario where I was having to add another speaker cabinet to this amp. I would just bring my other set up if a show required that much size and volume.

Considering the Bassman TV 115 as well... it seems on another forum, the TV Duo 10 (2x10) is popular. As I spoke to several folks about opinions of the 115 vs. the 2x10, many felt that there is more surface area with 2x10... but not true!

1 15" using inches, has an area that= 176.71 (more area, 1 driver)

1 10" using inches has an area that= 78.54 (less area, 2 drivers)
multiply that x 2 (2 drivers) = 157.08

I sought some opinions on other options besides the Bassman TV, many opinions out there "don't get a combo", "get a seperate cab & head", get this brand not that, then another poster reversed that in his opinion.. yada yada. C O N F U S I N G !!!

I can't play it locally, nobody has one, but I think the 15 is the best choice for me!

Question(s):
I have a USA made bass, 15 years old and mint, it's a Peavey Axcelerator 4 string with active electronics...do you think the Bassman, Bassman 15 is a good fit for Active?__

The Bassman's do not have a horn/tweeter, if having played other combo's that did, do you miss it on the Bassman?______

Thank You...

This seems to be one of the best Bassman TV threads around... why has it stopped?

I don't need to own an amp to know if I would like it, or it's to expensive. It's a good amp, all the TV amps are, but too pricey for what it is. Sounds good, yes it does. Would I buy one...used maybe. I like it but not enough to buy it from what I've sampled at the store (price tag keeps coming up).

A player bought a TV15 and returned the next day. He didn't like the sound from it. I thought it sounded good.

That's probably because you didn't place it inside the crisper-pocket prior to nuking it... A very common error.

DIDN'T COME WITH A CRISPER :D
