Post subject: Impedance/Ohms for Bassman 300 Pro

I have a Bassman 300 Pro with an impedance selector on the back for 8, 4 & 2 ohms. I have an 4 ohm cabinet (810 pro) and a 8 ohm cabinet (215). What is my impedance? Do I set it for 4 or 2 ohms?

It would be cool if Fender had a little calculator on their website where I could input the number of cabinets and ohm load and it would tell us what to set the amp for...

It would be best if you had two 8 ohm cabinets for a better match on a 4 ohm setting or two 4 ohm cabinets for a match on a 2 ohm setting. You may experience some mid to high level output distortion the way you are setting up because of a fractional impedence mismatch.

You are working with a parallel circuit configuration, so you can TRY to use the formula in explaination # 4 in the link below. If in doubt, DON'T connect both dis-similar impedence cabinets.
