Thanks. I was able to get a matching Fender 810 pro for less than I could find the discontinued 410.

Bump... Just "won" a 300 Pro on ebay. It's "in the mail". Now I just need to find the matching cab. Probably use an Ampeg in the mean time.

Hi, I'll tell you how I scored mine. I haunt the used section of guitar centers website daily. I was able to find the matching 810 cab pretty cheap ($700) by looking everyday for a couple weeks. i suggest you do the same, if you want to find the best deal on the gear you look for. I'm not affiliated in any way with GC, but the ability to see the used invintory of all their stores has always served me well. Best of luck

-Chris

Okay, my update is that I've found one for under a grand, which is what I wanted. Now, I've got a vintage bassman cab, gathering dust, in my basement. It's a 2x12 monster cab from the 70's that stands about 5 feet tall. I think it went with the old solid state series bassmans because theres holes on it where the head would screw into place. If anyones familiar with these cabs, would you say that a Bassman 300 pro is a decent enough match that I shouldnt' have to buy a new cab? I can't try it out because the head will be coming from across the country. Thanks.

Hey Chris1980, Do ya still have the Fender Bass cab? If so, wanna sell it?

Bad news. The Bassman 300 Pro from ebay seems to have evaporated along with the seller. Good thing I used paypal, they're always good about refunds. Unfortunately I'm back to square one and I'm probably out the $80 for shipping (I don't know if I can get that back). I'll keep you posted.

I've had a couple of bad experiences with ebay such as this and paypal gave me everything back, including the shipping charges.

Keep us posted. Good Luck!

Nah. It may not be an appropriate match for my 300 head, but it's a great guitar cab.

BTW, there's an 810 cab on guitar centers website for $750 right now. :)

I wish I would have grabbed a 300 Pro before Fender's price hike, back when they were $1,300.

Again, I'd just get a used one for $999 or less. Much like a car, I'd never get something that nice new and then have it depreciate the way it does as soon as I leave the store. Same with a Twin. Why buy one for $1400-$1800 when the going used price is about $750. I just don't get it. These are pro amps in the "long haul" category. I don't really care if someone else had it for a couple years before me, I'll have it for the next 40. lol
