the practice studio at my guitar players house only has mogami's . at first i would bring a cable to practice (i got one at the pawn shop) but those cables and any others that other guitar players have with them sound terrible compared to the mogami's , i borrow one of my guitar players all the time now . how about fenders platinum cable ? i know monsters platinum is monster , the bass player in my drummers ozzie tribute band uses one , very nice .

The Fndr cables don't give enough high end that you could need, like on a fretless... your up high on the neck all the time.

Monster gives a better low end than fender and a chrisper highend... Monster all the way, sorry fender

My monster got ate by my dogs so I'm using guitar cords right now (and have been for awhile) and they work great for high end

I've also been using Monsters for a couple of years and have been happy with them.

However, I do use the short (5 or 6 feet I think) Fender cables with my Teles and an SCXD and they're fine for that.

Monster Cable is a grift. Insanely overpriced and packaged with promises of "highs reaching the amp at the same time as lows" and other pseudo-science, they are no better than any other cable, and not as good as some.

All you need between your guitar and the amp is a cable with very low capacitance. You can buy low-Z Belkin cable, solder on your own Switchcraft ends, and have a better sounding, more durable cable than any Monster, for 1/10th the price.

Or you can buy George L's.

There is no doubt that quality cables matter. Also the PLUGS matter a lot too! I have three Monster Bass cables. They don't coil very well and seem stiff compared to any other cable but they really last. The George L's knot up if you aren't careful. My favoirte cable is the Ripcord bass cable by M.I.T. which abandoned their guitar cable business and just make cable for high end recording studios and super expensive speaker cables now. The Ripcord is a super flexible cable that won't kink, lays flat and sounds invisible. Of course you have those transformers or whatever they are to contend with near both ends, but no cable sounds better on a passive bass. Shame they abandoned the guitar crowd.
