Yeah, mine looks like crap I'm restoring it... well kinda.
I'm replacing the tolex with shag and my grill cloth is gonna be tyedye. I painted the amp head cab with random hippie stuff so I'm making it look like a half stack. I'l post some pics later if you want me to. Mine actually has a brand new peavey blue marvel speaker in it that weighs even more than the original but the sound is worth it. It's not easy to get it in the back of a hatchback camaro though. haha

MY old '69 Bassman with the '68 2-15 Bassman cabinet makes an absolutely deadly guitar amp and anything past 6 on the volume just wails with a beautiful bluesy sustain.

I have a Bassman 400 combo amp that sounds great, I just never use it. I use my GK head and SWR cab for everything. The sound I get out of my rig is phoenominal!

I have a Bassman 400 exactly like that, but I am now using a new Genz-Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T+10T for practice and smaller gigs and the Mesa/Boogie Walkabout Scout for the bigger ones. The G-B, Bassman 400 and the M/B all are rated at 300 watts, but the Fender is 80 lb, the Walkabout is 65 lb, and the Genz-Benz is 29! Guess which one I tote when I have a choice.

I'll probably sell the Fender, even though it sounds terrific with my '51 P RI.

I've played several over the years. Started with a dual showman head and twin JBL cabinet. (wrecked the springs in Dad's car with that one). Dropped back to an early 60's brown faced bassman (5881 tube? pre 6L6). Twin 12" blonde cabinet. I loved that amp, but traded it when I needed more power and didn't have more money. Then there was the 4 x 10" bassman (can't remember the name) nice, but eventually the same power problems. Bought a blonde bassman, with a black face amp to return to my first love, but ... its not the same. Have a Bassman Studio (200watts 6 6L6 tubes, EV 15" in a combo setup). This is an ok setup but I'm old(er) an its tough to haul. I'm also playing tight stages, and standing on top of it makes it tough to hear...

For recording, if the tune has a melodic bass line, I like a Super Reverb.

I don't have a Bass Amp, but I have played through a fender Silverface Bassman amp back in the mid 80s, and it was very efficient. So if I had one it would be the 70s bassman amp.

I Really Like The Sound You Get Playing The Guitar Through A Bass Amp. Rich Deep Sound And All The Quack You Really Need Unless Your Trying To Break A Glass.

I totally agree Biff

The old fender tweeds were also used for bass amps untill AMPEG ruled the bass amp market. The low/mic imput on the tweeds have great punchy bass. Great for single coils but are a little muddy with humbuckers.

TV 12 (150 w); not only great looks but the sound in smaller venues is great. It's a little heavy but fits in my Prius just fine. If I had the $$ would probably get the more powerful one.

I just got a Rumble 350 a few months ago. I love the sound of it. Many years ago, I had a BXR300 combo, which had a nice tone (then again, I have yet to play through a Fender that didn't,) but unfortunately I got rid of it to buy an Ampeg SVT3 Pro. That was a mistake.

A long time ago I wrote here about the Bassman TV series. I liked the sound but not the weight.
I also love the look.
I had a lighter rig at 39lb but when I found a Bassman TV15 on sale at my local store (20% off) I couldn't resist. The looks hook me and matches my butterscotch blonde Telebass.
I traded off the weight for looks and most important, my sound.
