I usr a Rumble 60. By itself it's not bad but, I use a Tech 21 Bass Driver. It adds so much to your sound, volume , tone and depth.

When I actually pug in, I use a BDEC for home use.

For gigs, I use a hi-fi neodymium-equipped speaker cabinet, in conjunction with a switching amplifier. As I mentioned from another post:

Quality light weight bass gear: I know Fender can do it....

Fender hasn't filled this void at the moment.

I've been using a Fender® Rumble 100 bass amp since mid 2007. Yesterday, my dealer contacted me with another deal... he said that the mid-2009 Fender® pricing was about to go up and he had a 2008 Fender® Bassman 250/210 left in the warehouse that he was willing to give me at 6 percent over his cost just to move it out the door. So, I traded the Rumble 100 in on it and am well satisfied. I had tested the 250/115 awhile back and the 250/210 seems to be pushing more 'air' than the single 15 inch. Really great amp and I recommend this to anyone who wants a big sound out of a fairly compact (63 pound/29Kilogram) amp. :)

I run three different rigs

main rig is an SWR Redface Basic 350

Back up is a Tube Works RT-3300 Head

I play these through a 4x10 cab (Peavey loaded with EV's)

Also have a Fender Bassman 100 combo I use for small venues.

I just got my TB-600 last night, pushing 400w through a single 8 ohm Orange 15. Louder than hell, great tubey sound, overdrive worthy of Geezer Butler. I haven't got the passive tone stack down yet, but it really sounds good flat at 2-10-2.

So far the only Fender amp I have is the Frontman 15B. It surprised me in the store and is deffinatly close to what I wanted in size and protability while producing a decent sound. Sadly I did't like the Rumble series.

A Fender Bassman 250/115 has my attention. I tried Some Marshall amps, and was not satisfied with the sounds at low to mid volumes. The MB4210 Marshall rattled until increasing the volume so you couldn't hear it rattle. The tone of the Marshall wasn't that clean, again at low to mid volumes. I'm glad I'm back to using a Bassman amp. A great all around amp.

I like my 250/210 though if I started gigging seriously, I'd add the external 15" cab. I like old school bass (deep) and the 2 X 10" doesn't quite get all the way down there. As in a previous post, I've added a Grand Audio tube pre in the effects loop and that's nicely fattened up the sound too.

I'd tried a variety of amps in that range (coming from an Ampeg 450 with a 4 X 10 and a 1 X 15) and agree with you -- best sounding I could find in that class. To be fair, I was doing all my research 3 years or so ago and I haven't heard some of the latest small rigs. Still, I like the sound and it works for what I'm doing and I have no need to chase after the holy grail.
