With the settings on the R100c, it has a superior punch similar to a Kustom with 2X15 cans. Beautiful bass tones.

That's some serious tones there, then. 8)

It really is. The more I worked the settings on the Overdrive, the better I found what I was going for.

How many channels do you get on that? I think the 500 combo gives you three? Vintage, overdrive, and another one, I think. I'm not too sure on that, unless I go look.

Rumbles only have one channel. The Overdrive and Vintage, Bright & Contour buttons are all just extra "voicings" or EQ controls, whatever you want to call them. But they aren't separate channels you can set in various ways and then switch back-and-forth, like the Bassman Vintage and Overdrive channels.

True, it is considered an overdrive circuit.

Well,....... It's looking like my next LZ may be Alabama. Things are looking that way now. Not just yet, In a few months? Nice that the Rumble 100 weighs only 22 pounds.

You're planning on getting out of Florida, and going to Alabama?

Oh, OK. I was looking at them again, and saw that layout. My Rumble 350 combo from the 2nd generation has a separate channel of sorts for the overdrive, with it's own gain and blend controls. I think it's foot switchable, too, but I don't have a foot switch for it.

Well, sometimes a change in the scenery might do some good. How long have you've been at your current place?

Going on 34 years in March, 2020. It maybe a year before we're ready to do the move, but we are stating to get things into motion.

Yes, the Rumble Overdrive is footswitchable, in addition to the OD on/off button on the control panel. The 2 OD control knobs on the V2s are called Gain & Blend, and the amp has no other Gain control. But the V3s do have an amp Gain control, so the 2 OD knobs are called Overdrive & Level, instead. Either way, both amps are just one channel, as all the other controls are always active whether OD is on or off.

The OD can make a very radical difference, though. In fact, many who don't usually use the OD find it to be quite useful as a Mute button with both OD knobs turned all the way down!

However, I don't know if that trick has been verified with a V2. If you get a chance can you check and let me know? I'd appreciate it.

I haven't used the overdrive too extensively, just here and there for a bit. Right now, my girlfriend is using that amp for her Roland drums, so I'm not using it anymore. I've been running my Ampeg PF-800 through a Fender Rumble 4 x 10" cab. I used to have an Orange Terror Bass 1000 before that with the Fender, but I sold that and got the Ampeg. What sucks is right after I got it, they finally decided to put out a Rumble 800, which is something I've talked about on here, before, and would have wanted. Oh well, what can you do? The Ampeg does the job, though. I can't complain about it. It certainly gives me more tonal options that the Orange did.

Interesting that you pretty much moved into your current place the same month that I moved from Florida to Rhode Island. It will be 17 years this March for me. Yeah, I know it takes a while to get everything going, especially if you have a house and all of that. I just left Florida with nothing but a suitcase and the clothes on my back. I wasn't exactly sure if I was going to wind up here, or have to go back, but I did and gave up everything I owned behind. I wound up getting new stuff, anyway. I certainly have better gear then I ever did, anyway.
