It probably was a cheaper bag as you said.

I'm liking the bolt on neck more now than what I had over the years with all the Gibson basses I had. Funny how the Epi EB-0, I think is the only bolt on in any of the recent basses by either Epiphone, or Gibson. The Epi EB-3, is set-in like the SG Std. Gibson. Why the Epi EB-0 is the odd bolt on is somewhat of a mystery, to me at least.

All of the Fenders I've had over the years were of course bolt on, with no issues.

My Hofners were set-in necks, but that is expected with a Violin, Viola. The Epi Viola, and the EKO were set-ins as well.

Yeah, I guess the reason they made your bass bolt on, is probably because it's price point, or maybe it's probably considered their "beginner" model, or whatever. I remember it used to come in one of those player packs, with the little amp, and accessories, before they started doing the Tobias ones. The cheapest Thunderbird basses they had were also bolt on, as well. I know those are usually neck thru, and are besides those. They also used to have a Les Paul type bass that was bolt on, too. Maybe you might remember those from I think at least 10 years ago, or so. I don't even know if Gibson ever made a bolt on neck bass at all. It doesn't seem like they have, but who knows, maybe there's some obscure model from the late 70's, or early 80's that we don't know about, or remember. They did come out with all kinds of stuff back then, besides the usual models (Thunderbird and EB.)

I don't remember a lot of the other older configurations.

Yeah, they do have a lot of stuff come and go throughout the years. Some stuff makes it and stays, and other is whatever happened to that?

True. There were a few things that might have been considered clunkers, yet are now looked on through rose colored glasses because of certain nostalgia. Then again, life is like that, anyway.

That's about the way it is too. Then there was the stuff you thought would be around forever. My one thought, SUNN.

Well, I suppose it could have, but someone around here decided otherwise after they bought it out. The funny thing is that there's a lot of younger bands around that use all of that old equipment like that. A lot of it still works, because it was built to last, as long as you don't trash it.

The majority of the older stuff was made to work, and last. Yeah, Someone didn't want to have SUNN around any longer. I hope there are the new guys coming up, using the good old gear I grew up with.

There are, and they're young enough to not give a crap on how heavy that stuff is to haul around. :P

That goes along with the monster looks, size, and power. It's great for them to carry on.

You know, interestingly enough, I had some pretty decent powered rigs back in the day, but I never really had to haul around really heavy stuff, since the biggest thing I had to carry was a 15" cab, and those weren't too much more, if at all than the 4 x 10" cab I have now. I mean I've played through several 2 x 15" cabs, one or two 8 x 10" cabs, and that monster 2 x 18" and 2 x 10" cab, but it was other people's stuff, and not mine, so I never had to move it. I just realized that, now thinking back on it. It's kind of funny, the majority of the gigs I did back in Florida were either through a combo with a 15" speaker, or a head with a 15" speaker, and a couple times with a 2 x 10" speaker on top of the 15" speaker. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I did have two separate 15" speaker cabs running together at one point, as well. I don't think I gigged with that setup, though.
