You know that's right.

Yeah, those have always been out of my reach, unless they let me play something like that in a shop. I remember one time I got to play a Jack Bruce model Warwick fretless bass, which was $3800 back in 1994. It was in a shop that was now a Sam Ash, in Clearwater, Florida. That thing was amazing. It had LED fret markers on it, where you'd flip a switch and go on. I can see why Jack liked Warwicks, since they do have really nice necks on them. Probably some of the best I've played, in my opinion, anyway. But, they're $$$ for the most part.

I never had the opportunity to play a Warwick, but I never heard a negative issue about them. I bet Jack's fretless model was something.

I did a few times, mostly back around the same time period back then, when I used to frequent a lot of music shops like that. They have one of the fastest, and smoothest necks I've played, especially for a long scale bass. Jack knew his stuff, that's for sure.

If you ever get a chance, you should check one out, and see what you think.

They probably have them in either Sam Ash or Guitar Center, I'm sure.

I'd have to check that out. Sometimes they don't always stock what you think they would. God forbid they a stock to work with anymore. The local SA does usually does have 3-4 4003's hanging on the wall. A lot of Fender in it's Fender section away from the other basses. Like they are something. Image SA has all of it's Fender amps in that Fender section as well come to think of it, not with the other amps.

I haven't been in a Sam Ash in probably since 2005 or earlier, that I remember. There's one in White Plains, New York, which is next to Greenwich, Connecticut, which is where my girlfriend's mom and stepdad lives, where we've stayed when we did some New York City gigs. We did go there in 2012, but we didn't go to any shops that I remember. The one thing that I remember back in 2005 (I think) that I picked up there was an LTD 8-string bass, which is kind of like that Hagstrom 8-string bass that Hendrix used. You know, those basses with the octave string, like a 12-string guitar. I thought that was pretty cool. I also remember that they had a bunch of Gallien Kruger in there, which you can't miss, since they kind of stick out. They didn't really have the Fender bass stuff going on at that time like they do now. Then again, they didn't have a lot of the bass stuff they do now, back then. We've come a long way in the past 15 years, didn't they?

I suppose the fact they have the Fender stuff separated might have to do with Fender, itself. Maybe they make them do that for whatever reason. I'm only guessing, though.

True about Fender possibly having their product separated from the rest, so they stand out more on their own.

Yeah, I'm sure Gibson probably does the same thing, as well.

Maybe in the Gibson 6 stringers, but not in the basses from what I've observed. What a surprise,..... right? SA usually has three, or four $3,000. - $6,000., or higher LP's in those locked glass floor displays. I may have mentioned this before but, some of the Epi LP's look as fine as they're Gibson counter parts do. If I was playing 6 stringers, and could afford one, the Gibson SG 6 stringers would be the one. I'm glad I don't play 6 stringers, "if you know what I mean, Mississippi Queen!"

Well, we know bass to Gibson is the red headed step child, but at least they're making bass strings again, so maybe they're giving it some more attention. I know what you mean with the Epiphone stuff. You should see the guitars they have coming out now. They're really making them look like the old Gibsons, with the Pelham Blue and TV Yellow finishes, and they changed the headstock to be more like Gibson's style. I guess they're referring them as being "inspired by," or something like that.

Yeah, I've seen some of that. Epi may as well cut into the Gibson style on them. Still on the Epi portion of the Gibson site, the five basses as shown from before. No EB-3. or EB-0 mentioned. The Gibson portion is showing three basses.
