Hello to everyone...

I currently have a Fender Rumble 150 and it sounds great but I don't like how heavy it is. I am on the fence on whether to keep it (I like the sound) or sell it and go with something lighter weight and more portable. If I do sell it I am trying to choose which amp(s) to get - I either want to get 2 Rumble 100s (using both at same time) or get 1 Rumble 200 w/ ext cab.. Let me know any opinions that you have...

I have a Zoom MS-60B Bass FX pedal that has 2 outputs (R/L) - The L output will go to one combo amp and the R output will go to the other combo amp (If I get 2 combo amps). I am going to use the Zoom pedal sparingly - light/smooth compression, 7 band eq to subtract out boxy frequencies and finally a small amount of the harmonic exciter. Other than that I will use the pedal for distortion at times and of course the tuner...

Will 2 Rumble 100's at same time (200 watts) be able to keep up with a drummer and guitarist in Rock/Alternative 3 piece band or no?

If I decide to keep the Rumble 150 and purchase the Ampeg 2x10 combo to pair with it then that will sound awesome but will also be heavy and bulky. Another option is the TC Electronic 2x8 combo to pair with Rumble 150... So I'm at the point where someone else might have some solid advice or suggestion on which direction to go...

Thanks

First, sit tight for a few days. The rumor is a new Fender Rumble combo is going to be introduced Friday at Winter NAMM. If you are uninterested in any of the digital modeling combos, you could hardly go wrong with a Rumble 500 combo. It's the best selling bass amp on planet Earth in bass amp history. Ever. I have a Rumble 200 because I like the 15" Eminence woofer best.

Well, if you're buying new, for the cost of two Rumble 100's, you can get yourself a Rumble 500 combo amp, which is 500 watts, or 350 with the combo itself, and 500 with an extension cab. That should cover your situation rather well, and it's only only amp to haul (unless you have the extra cab,) and that amp it pretty lightweight. I mean you probably could get away with running two Rumble 100 amps, but when you factor in the cost (if buying new) ratio, and other things, you'd be better off going with the Rumble 500. That is of course, if you want to stick with the Fender stuff. I know there's a ton of other stuff out there besides that.

Thank you guys.

I am going to go with the Rumble 200 and then get the 115 Extension Cab a few months later. I think that will be a good match and will keep consistent deep tone no matter what volume.

Sounds good. 8) A 2 x 15" set up should give you some nice low end.
