I do have PDF file copies of a bunch of old Fender catalogs from the early 60's, going into the early 70's, at least, and another one from 1982. I should look and see if they offered anything, but I don't remember ever noticing anything like that in previous searches. We've had their Passport PA systems, and they've did pretty good. Although, that's nothing like they would have had in the 60's, anyway, since they didn't have that tech yet.

If they did have a PA offering out at the time, I could have missed it very easily.

Yeah, I suppose that wouldn't have been their main product focus point, anyhow.

Back then, I was never really sure what Fender had as a product line for its bass amps. Kustom, Acoustic, Sunn, and Ampeg were taking control of the bass amp market place. BIG TIME! And in a rather Saucy Way, as an old friend would've said.

.
The Beatles used a new Fender Solid State PA for their rooftop concert. It came with the new silverface amps they played through. Paul even put the Bassman bumper sticker that came with it on his Hofner!

Interesting, I've never noticed that before.

Yeah, those brands seemed to have put in the effort to develop bass gear. Fender did have that monster Fender 400-PS amp, but I guess it didn't set the world on fire, even though it must have been loud as hell. I think one of the bassists from Jethro Tull had one, or that might have been a 400 watt HiWatt, I'm not sure, and Berry Oakley from the Allman Brothers had one, from what I've read.

I didn't realize that they used that. I do remember the sticker on the Hofner, though. Can you see it in the movie? If so, I'm going to try and look for it the next time I watch it, since I do have a copy of it.

I went ahead and looked and found this: https://www.vintageguitarandbass.com/fe ... 968_36.php There's a 100 watt Fender PA head mentioned there.

With further searching, I also just found a video for a 1966 Fender PA head:

I don't remember seeing that Fender PA head. Cool.

Now that I have seen this, it does look familiar. Maybe I've seen it in passing, but didn't pay much attention to it, because I was looking for something more specific. I have noticed a lot of the PA heads from around that era do have a similar layout, as well.

I still liked the Kustom PA's from back then. They were made as solid as the Amps were.

Yeah, I don't think you could go wrong with one of those, especially for that time. I remember seeing one for auction that Johnny Cash used, a few years back. I'm sure it costed more than a regular one did, since it was his. You probably could plug a guitar or bass into one, or any of those PA heads, if you wanted to. Come to think of it, didn't Leslie West use a PA head for his guitar? I seem to think I read that somewhere, or some other guitarist from that time.

Sunn sent them the Coliseum PA heads by mistake. West wanted to send them back, but Felix talked him into at least trying them. He did play through them, and loved them. At the time, they were one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful heads out at that time. You would've loved hearing Leslie West live through those Sunns. I can never forget the body rushes I got seeing Mountain live for the first time. No disappointment here.

Yeah, that was what I heard. Did you tell me that originally, or did I read about it elsewhere? I take it they were really friggin' loud, then.
