You know, oddly enough, I've actually seen someone play an accordion through a Marshall amp, many moons ago. They weren't a polka band, either.

When I was really young, I played accordion.

How long did you do that for?

About maybe a year, I think. I was pretty young.

Did you get into guitar right after that?

No, I started playing organ for a bit, then brass horns, drums, and then guitar.

Can you still play any of those things?

I play our piano at times, and I guess I could get by on the drums. The horns though, it would take some time to be back into those.

You probably could, if you put in some practice time to get it back. I've always wanted to play the piano, or keyboards. I think that would be a cool thing to do, and it does open up an avenue of creativity. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to know more instruments.

Keyboards are really handy for players who suck on 6 stringers. Like me.

You know, if I had a choice besides bass being my main instrument, to play either guitar or keys, I'd take keys. It's not that I don't like guitar, I do, I just think it would compliment me more with what I do.

You can also do that keyboard bass kind of thing, like Ray Manzarek did, for a different sound. They have these effects pedals these days that you can plug your bass into and sound like a synth bass, as well. Speaking of The Doors, have you heard the 50th Anniversary edition of "The Soft Parade?" They have these versions of the songs without the strings and horn sections, like "Touch Me." The funny thing about it is I still hear all of that in my head, even though it's removed, because I've heard that song so many times over the years. :P

No, I haven't heard about The Soft Parade 50th. I remember when it did release though. "Touch Me" is one of my more favorite Doors songs. I just listened to it just the other day.
Ray Manzarek is the first keyboard player doing a bass part, that always comes to mind.

Here is "Touch Me" with just The Doors:

They also have "Wishful Sinful," with just a bass and guitar, and not Ray for some reason:

My father once told me, when The Doors were in the studio, nobody knew what was going to happen next. I guess he knew better than most.
