Yeah, considering you have amps that are 1000 watts and weigh something like 5 pounds, maybe 10 at the most, if they have a tube preamp in them.

Oh yeah. Who could have dreamed that those little SS monsters would be in the future not that long ago.

I couldn't have even imagined those even 20 years ago.

Exactly. Twenty years doesn't sound that much, at least in the past.

It is, and yet it isn't. Sometimes, it seems like a lifetime ago, and sometimes not.

For me now, 20 years in the future is an eternity.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a spring chicken, either. Hopefully, I'll make it to see it, and hopefully there were be a world around in 20 years to even see.

I suppose it depends on whether there's a bad enough war, natural disasters, or if God decides to come back and flush the toilet. :P

I try not to dwell on that, since there's nothing I can do about it anyway.

The last couple of days I've been eyeballing my amp setup, and I can't find a single thing I object to in it. I've come to the conclusion the HD115 is a really fine cab. I'm glad I didn't do a Neo 115 to go with the SB, just because it's a Fender, and looks the same as the head's trim. The SB does just barely fit on the top of the HD115, as an SB sits on an Ampeg SVT-212AV cab.

It does sound like you have managed to put together a fine amp and speaker combo. I don't think it matters if they don't cosmetically match, as long as they sound good and do what they are supposed to. I do remember how good those all aluminum Hartke cabs sounded, so I imagine with the hybrid paper and aluminum, you get the best of both worlds, with the warmth of the paper cone, and the clarity and punch of the aluminum. I wish I could get one of those cabs, myself, but it's probably unlikely, since the cost is too much for anything I can do right now. Maybe down the road, if things go good and really pickup. You never know what the future holds, since it can go anyway. Hopefully, not down, though. That's always a $@!&*.

There is a cheaper alternative, though. There is the all aluminum 2 x 10" Hartke cab, which could be stacked with the Fender 4 x 10" cab, and basically similar to what Jack Bruce did, which in turn inspired the design of those HyDrive cabs in the first place.

Keep an eye open for some possible HD cab sales. Like I said, It seems so, not thought of mixing an SB with a HD115 by just about everyone I've talked too.

Yeah, you never know what can come up, especially when AMS has sales and deals going on. You know, there's also the used market, but that can be problematic, sometimes.

Today I had my best day playing with the SB / HD115. The bass was,

It has the sound of a Gibson EB3 with the PJ pups through the SB / HD115. Cream, Faces, and Mountain sounded absolutely fantastic.

Sounds good. 8) You should get one of those feather roach clips to hang off of the headstock, for the full ambiance. :P I wonder if they even still have those anywhere? I haven't seen those since I was a kid, probably back in the 70's.
