It does work well. Although, I'd really love to try recording with the Ampeg at some point. Ampeg does make a pedal that's their preamp, like the MXR is. If the MXR crapped out, I'd like to be able to pick one of those up, if possible.

Yeah, I really didn't have that Precision for too long. Maybe a couple of months, I don't even think a year. I was really into the violin bass, and used to that short scale, so the Precision was kind of awkward to me at the time, so I sold it and got the Ibanez.

I never got into the pedals, etc. But that could be an aid to attaining the Precision's sound.

I've used various ones for different things over the years. I like to use a chorus pedal a lot. The preamp is handy, if you don't have a setup to where you can mike up an amp.

At least that's one thing I'm not worried about starting to buy. 8)

Yeah, that can be opening another can of worms doing that. :P There's a ridiculous amount of various effects pedal brands and the effects they each put out, with all kind of price ranges, and options. If you want 90 different fuzz pedal, you can get them.

I know, I'll still do the big pass on pedals.

I am seriously considering changing out the Markbass, for the Hartke HD150 Combo. True, it's 150 watts, with a 15, but it has a seven band EQ, and a headphone jack. One thing about the Markbass I had not remembered, if service is needed, it's not backed by a service network like Hartke, or Fender is. The Hartke also has that awesome HyDrive speaker.

That's a good point. They are strictly a Guitar Center amp, so you'd have to deal with them. At least, Fender or Hartke is available elsewhere. What about those 500 watt Hartke combos, like the Kickback KB12 or KB15, which is either a 12" an 15" speaker? They also have a 500 watt 2 x 10" (HD500) and a 4 x 8" (HD508) combos, as well. You get more power out of those, unless they are too expensive.

They are nice, but as you stated, out the price range. The HD150 should work fine. It's about a $120. less than the Rumble 200, and like I said before, I'm into the 15" HyDrive Series speaker in it.

Now I'm ready to crank it up. It's back under the Combo.

Cool, you got the extra cab again. 8) That should make enhance your sound quite a bit, I think.

The deal for the Hartke worked out a lot better than I had anticipated. It seems, unknown to me, the HD150 is on sale. I saved some serious Buckeroos' here.

Sounds good, even better you got a deal on it. 8) I remember what you were saying in the past about those HyDrive speakers, when you had them previously. Besides, it has an extra 10 watts over the Rumble 200, sans having an extra cab to hook up to it. You know, if you have to do that, you might as well just get a head and separate cab, and probably would have more power with it, as well.

I like the extra size of the Hartke cab for a 15" combo also. It doesn't have a cab extension outlet, which I don't require anyway. The HD150 is 150 Watts @ 4 Ohms, so it has a decent output. A 7 band sliding EQ, headphone jack, and casters. AND, IT WAS ON SALE!!! Like big time! I actually came out ahead on this one. I thought I was going to break even, or get a few bucks back on the sales tax from the return of the Markbass. The sale price of the HD150 returned $100. total back to me on the deal.

That sounds like you got a good deal all around, then. 8) Hopefully, you won't ever need to find out how well their service is, because of an issue.

I'm really not anticipating any, from previous Hartke products. No more rat fur, if I can help it. I can't honestly see anything negative about it. The sale price blew me away. When the girl went to do the register, she told me the HD150 was on sale, and informed me i had $100. bucks coming back. OK! I had to go down to SA in Miami Lakes to get this one, but it was worth it. The two they had were on the floor, but both looked better than the one that was available at the Margate store, closer to me.

Jack Bruce must have known something for playing Hartke.

That's true, he did use them quite extensively for many years. I've played through those some Hartke stuff, and I thought it sounded pretty decent, as well, especially those aluminum speaker cabs. The only thing I've ever had an issue with was one of their small practice combos farting out on me, but that could have been a lemon, which does happen, unfortunately. I always liked their HA series heads, which I've played through a couple of times. That's what the head Jack used, too. They only make the HA3500 and HA2500 these days, though.
