Yeah, never to be repeated by any other group. I guess it was one of those things that happened at the right place and time.

Yep! As I get older, I think about things that were in the 60's era. Like I've always said, a truly Magical Time. Image

Yeah, considering all that happened during that time, I'd say it was.

We are coming on the 50th anniversaries of both the Apollo 11 moon landing, and Woodstock.

That's true. They are supposed to have a 50th Anniversary concert. Some remnants of musicians that were at the original were supposed to be there, like John Fogerty (from Creedence Clearwater Revival), Carlos Santana (as Santana), David Crosby (from Crosby, Stills & Nash), Melanie, John Sebastian, Country Joe McDonald, three Grateful Dead members (as Dead & Company), Canned Heat, and Hot Tuna (containing members of Jefferson Airplane). That, and some more recent bands, and I think Robert Plant, as well. Led Zeppelin had to turn down the original Woodstock because they had other gig commitments, from what I've read. A lot of those people are gone now, that were in some of those bands, and others. Everyone in Crosby, Still, & Nash are still alive, but David Crosby pissed everyone off really badly, so I guess that's not going to happen with those three.

Its pretty amazing the number of bands that either didn't show up, or turned down the offer to be there.

That's true. No one even thought about any sort of cultural significance, or anything like that, probably. If anything, they all wanted to make money, and when you think about it, that aspect was a disaster. They really would have lost their $@! if they didn't do that movie, to make up some money, as well.

That's it! They lost everything they put into it.

I don't think they were prepared for what happened when all of those people showed up, plus there were other issues going on, as well.

I think they were only expecting about 15,000 to 20,000 to show up.

The word got around, and soon enough, thousands were climbing, and eventually tearing down the fences. Most of the new comers brought no food, or water.

A lot of people couldn't even get in because of the severe traffic, and some people had to walk miles to get there. It must have been a logistical nightmare.

I forget how many miles the traffic backed up from Max Yasgur's farm.

I'm sure quite a few. Where were you when Woodstock happened? Did you think about trying to go to it?
