So, you think the Markbass is going to be a keeper, then?

The Mini CMD 121P Combo is a keeper.

Cool. 8) What about the deal with the extension cab? Do you think you'll do OK with just the single 12" speaker? I'm sure the 300 watts is enough juice.

Oh yeah, I'm fine without the NY121 extension cab. 300 Watts is more than ample for my playing here at home. It also has enough power to give the 1X12 a very good punch that I like. I can always add another cab to it if I want to, but I really don't fore see that happening any time in the immediate future. And besides, I have enough Buckeroos gone for covering the Hofner.

Yeah,............ you know that's right. I wouldn't have even considered doing a 500/1 Hofner, if it wasn't for the DNS discounted price. And I have the majority of the funds to cover it. Somewhat.

I often wonder if it weren't for Paul McCartney making that bass so famous, if that even has a lot do with that, although they do make budget models. The funny thing was they were a budget brand back then, and that's part of the reason he got it in the first place. That, and there weren't lefty bass options back then, and at least that didn't look too daft (as he put it,) if he had to play a reversed right handed model.

Hofner hadn't been making violin basses for too long back then. But he did do well in orchestral stringed instruments. There is however no doubt about it, the 500/1 Violin Bass made the biggest impact directly from Sir Paul playing one. His Hofner has, had, whatever was a bass sound machine. I've listened to his bass lines forever. Amazing.

Yeah, it's certainly one of the more famous basses out there because of him. What does anything automatically think of when they've seen one.

Yep! That's Paul McCartney's Beatle Bass. It did make a lasting impression. Ringo did that with his Ludwig drums also.

The Epiphone Casino guitar, too. Rickenbackers. There's actually a book on all of their gear, but I never read it.

Yeah,.......... that was one of those rare things that people today reflect on, remembering where they were watching it on TV that Sunday night.
