I find it oddly interesting, but then again I usually do for oddball Fender stuff that never gained much or any fame, like say a Twin, or Bassman amp.

It's somewhat ironic of the trail of Fender's amps that were up, and the others down.

I guess they've had their "classic" models, but have also tried variations of them. One of my favorite guitar amps of theirs was a Princeton Chorus amp back in the early 90's, which was their version of a Roland JC-120 combo. Usually Princeton amps are small tube amps, with usually a 10" speaker, but this one had 2 x 10" speakers, solid state, and built in chorus effects. Fender did put out a lot of solid state amps that have come and gone, which a lot of them sounded pretty good. Then again, it's pretty rare when they don't, I think. I'm not hung up on that whole tube thing, though.

I feel like I'm at that point that I can take, or leave tubes.

I'm the same way, especially for bass. Probably because I've mostly used solid state for that, anyway.

Anymore, as long as I can get the tones I want, tube, or SS it doesn't matter.

There are some fine SS heads that do a tube tone very well.

They can certainly do that.

By the way, I just realised something that you could do that's rather sinister with your Rumble, since it runs at 2 ohms, you could run two 8 x 10" cabs (Fender used to have them, not sure if they still do) with that thing, and really flap your trousers. You know, sans any practicality or other issues, that would be something to do at least once in your life.

I'm ok with my little SVT-410HLF. It would be interesting to say the least to do two 8X10 cabs. I don't think I could fit even one 8X10, let alone two of them in my Rav4. Not too mention the $$$$"s. The sound would be something else though.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You'd need a good size rig to haul two of those things, like something that's used to haul appliances, pretty much. The damned things are about the size of a refrigerator, almost. Still, that would be a fun thing to play through.

They would be a lot of fun to play through. But not to move anymore. Like I've maybe said, the SVT-410HLF is about half that in size, and I have no inclination to move it.

Yeah, I looked at the specs on your cab, and it's quite the beast, itself. It's certainly on the upper end of what I'd feel comfortable wanting to haul around for gigs. The main issue is moving the damned thing up and down stairs, which can also be narrow, sometimes. Then, there's the vehicle situation, as well. I can't get anything too big, otherwise that could run into problems, when you factor in other gear, as well. I suppose if you had a step van, and didn't have to worry about stairs so much, that wouldn't be a big deal.

The stairs would be the biggest issue moving the SVT-410HLF. It's about 85 pounds. The pull handle is great, the 3" casters are good also. And there is a skid pad. But the height of the stairs is usually way too steep. Yeah, narrow doorways can be a pain. But man does it put out the low tones.

I'll bet it does, especially with the ports on it, and the overall design of the cab. I guess it moves more air, with that extra real estate on it.
