Normally no adjustments required The EB-3 worked as well, I just had to throttle the volume way down on the bass. I don't know how the Viola will play through this amp, maybe like the EB-3. The Viola has the Humbuckings on it as well. The Rumble 800 HD brings out the sounds like the Super Bassman. The SVT-410HLF does fine in the mix also.

The EB-3 is a loud bass?

Extremely LOUD!!! I believe they are double wrapped Humbuckings. Louder than any Gibson SG Std. I've played. They sound more like the 1970 EB-0 I had. The old Humbuckings had so much power the sent into the amp. It was like an Active pup, without a battery. I looking forward to see how the Epi Viola does with it's mini Humbuckings onboard.

That sounds pretty good, then. 8) I'm curious about that Viola bass, as well. You know at one time, they had a limited edition Pelham Blue version of your bass, maybe within the last 10 years. I do remember seeing it online. I just happened to think about that, since you did mention that finish on the other thread we are talking on.

I love Pelham Blue. The first real 6 stringer I had, was in 1968. It was a Gibson SG JR. in Pelham Blue. That was when I went to playing bass. Myself, and 6 stringers never got a long well.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool color. I guess every once in awhile, they'll use it for something. I don't know why they don't more frequently. Was it originally a custom color? Maybe that's why.

No, I don't think it's a custom color. At least it wasn't back in the 60's.

I suppose it was Gibson's answer to Fender's Lake Placid Blue, would you say?

Without a doubt. I don't know however, which color came first.

Well, I suppose Fender's were actually automobile paint finishes, from what I've read. I don't know if Gibson took those from that, too.

Probably so. The color is the color, but with a variation of the name. Example; Richard Petty's #43 Plymouth GTX NASCAR, was Electric Blue from the Chrysler color charts. Ford, and GM probably had the same color, but names it something else.

I guess they all had similar color options.

Of course, you'll never probably see an automobile in Sunburst, though. :P

I've seen some older hot rods at car show some time ago that had sunburst finishes.
