You never know with Fender. They did finally put out a Rumble 800. Speaking of that, if they put out a Rumble 2 x 12" cab, but not a Neo (which I know you like,) would you even bother to check it out? I suppose the only point to it would be just to have a matching cab to the head, which is nothing more than cosmetic.

I'd check it out of course, but if it were an 8 ohm, with the pretty much standard Eminence 12's, it wouldn't be worth it for me to give up a 4 ohm. I'd still hang on to the SVT. Now if they did a Bassman 212 NEO, I would have a bit more of a serious consideration. NEO's are a pretty good Eminence speaker.

That's true, it would most likely be 8 ohms, like their other cabs in that series. Of course, it might be cheap enough you could get two of them and do it that way, but I don't know if there would even be a point to that, in your situation. You never know with having a Neo cab like that, maybe if you talk about it for 6 years on here, they'll finally put it out, like the Rumble 800. :P

They are? That's a good thing, especially if that's your preferred speaker type. I always thought one of those 4 x 12" bass cabs were pretty cool for some serious bass. I doubt they'd be as problematic as trying to run an 18" speaker, especially in smaller spaces.

I was always partial to 4X12 Marshall cabs.
But then again, Ron's Kustom 200, with the 2 2X15 JBL's was a beautiful amp. A crystal clean tone with balls to it. I do believe of all the amps I've ever heard, the Kustom was truly the finest of them all.
Ron asked me to do his bass sound check, so he could hear it from the audience. I remember playing the bass parts to Mountain's, "Theme For An Imaginary Western", and "Never In My Life" through it. We were good, close friends for a few years when this happened. After I fished the sound check, Ron came up on stage, and really knocked me flat. He was in a bit of an emotional state, and said to me, I never knew you played bass so well. I think I appreciated that from Ron more than any other playing compliment I ever had.

The Super Bassman, and the Ampeg are making some sweet tones. I may have to add this combination to my rating, along with the Kustom Amp of Ron's. I think Felix would have liked the Super Bassman head. I sure as hell do! Image

The guitarist that we've played with in Boston has a couple of those Kustom amps, the 200, and the 250, as well as the 2 x 15" and 3 x 15" cabs. I've played the Orange head through the 2 x 15" cab, before I got the Fender 4 x 10" cab. One time, I even hooked up the 18" cab and that Kustom 2 x 15" cab together, since they were both 8 ohms. That was fun, but it was a bit too much low end for my girlfriend, since it was hitting her with the frequencies. That was mainly the issue with the 18" speaker and that small space. For grins, I might hook up the Ampeg to that Kustom cab, if it's possible, in the future, whenever I go there again. I'm rather curious.

That's cool that you got that kind of compliment. I'm sure it was well deserved. 8)

Hook it up to that Kustom, I'll bet it Kicks.

Ron really took me by surprise with that. He never heard me play in that big of a hall before. I'll never forget that.

I'm going to try it, if I get the chance to. How big of a place was it?

Wow, that's very cool. That's where Led Zeppelin played, and a bunch of others. 8)

Yeah, it was my one, and only doing the sound check in MSG. All alone on stage. Ron always reminded me how I played there. And I always replied, yeah,....... "Theme For An Imaginary Audience." Hardly anyone else knew what we were talking about. Image

Speaking of Bassman Amps, there may be a Bassman 410 Neo in the cosmic future.
