I've also realized quite a few people that were in that movie are no longer with us.

If you open the door or not he's there.

That's true. For some reason, I just thought about that episode of "Twilight Zone," which was pretty much about that. I think Robert Redford was in it.

I don't think I remember that episode. I saw a Perry Mason episode that had Robert Redford in it.

I saw it once, a long time ago, during one of those times they'd play those old "Twilight Zone" shows during late night, early morning times of day. You know, TV viewing at 4 AM, when you've been up all night. :P

Getting back to Rumble heads, and cabs, the only reason I honestly don't use Rumble cabs, is the magnetic top they incorporate to work in conjunction with the magnetic feet on their heads. I don't trust anything magnetic around electronic devices. (Amp Heads). Extra caution with tube heads. Some companies warn of magnets in close proximity to electronic devices. God help the world if anyone were to mention that to the Rumble gang at TB.

There's a magnet in the top of those? I didn't realize they had that. I just looked at it, and there were tiny round cup shape things on top that are screwed in. I did take a nail to see how magnetic they are, and the nail did not stick to it, so they might not be strong at all, or the magnets could be on the feet of the Rumble amp. Still, I know what you mean about magnets and electronics. I hope that won't be an issue with my Ampeg down the road. The indentations do not match up at all with the feet of the Ampeg, if that matters, though.

I don't know exactly how Fender applies, and use the magnets, but they are very open about stating a magnet setup to assist holding Rumble heads in place on top of Rumble cabs. In all of my years, and workings with heads, and cabs, I've never seen a need for a magnet system to hold a head in place, on top of a cab. Just me though.

From the Fender Rumble 800 site, Compatible with patented Fender magnetic attachment system on all Rumble speaker cabinets.

PATENTED MAGNETIC LOCKING SYSTEM
Matching Rumble speaker enclosures feature a patented magnetic locking system that locks a Rumble head into the foot cups on top of the enclosure.

From the Rumble 410 cab page,

The magnet is under the vinyl covering. Not under the foot cups. Placing the Rumble head's feet into the cups lowers the steel case of the head to make contact with the top of the speaker cabinet. The magnet then holds it very securely. You can even play with it sideways with the head just hanging off the side and it will stay put no problem. So simple it's genius.

I'm still not crazy about having anything magnetic around amp heads. SS, or tube heads. It may not do the magnets on the speakers any favors either.

Anyway, do you think you may do a Rumble 800 one day?

I don't know if I'll be able to get one, unless something happens to what I just got, and that would make an ideal replacement. Of course, I seriously hope that doesn't happen. Still, I wish they'd come out with this a lot sooner.

That would be somewhat similar for me, if Fender ever woke up and put out a Bassman 212 Neo. I don't know if I'd buy one, but it would be very tempting to go with the SB on top.
