Hi guys,
I came across this Fender amp needing repair.
The owner said he replaced blown fuse and keeps blowing fuses, in overall good condition
It Powers up then blows fuse.
Then he states that he was told these are known for blowing out a particular transistor but he does not know which one.
Should I get it and repair it or stay away from it.
Thanks in advance!

Do you mind if I ask how much they want for it? I actually have one that I have had since 2012 (the combo version, that is,) and never had an issue like this, or even heard of that happening when they were still in production. It's a really good amp, but this sounds like a bad idea, unless you can get it for dirt cheap to where you'd only spend at the most $150 (maybe $175 max) including repairs, then it might be worth it. But other than that, there's so much used bass amps out there you can get for cheap.

He wants $150 and I don't know any technician in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area that would fix the amp for an afordable amount. I'm sure the price is negotiable but it could be a gamble in which I'm going to be stuck with a combo amp that is too expensive to repair.

For that amount I can get an used rumble 100 in a very good condition.

Tell the seller to send it to an authorized Fender Service Center for repair. Then after it is fixed, pay him the $150. It is only worth that price if it is in A1 perfect operating condition.

How much a service center will charge ?
I could be wrong but a repair can cost $150, could be less too.

Not sure I will pay to fix a amp I can sell $150

A dead amp is worth zero dollars. Only a fool would buy it.

I want to address this issue seperately for anyone that might read this months or years later. First of all Fender Rumbles as a family of bass amps are known for their well earned reputation for hardy road worthy and gig worthy reliability. The Rumble 350 is no exception. I had a Rumble 350 head that I gigged for three years straight without issue. I sold it to move up to a new V3 Rumble 200 combo that I still have and use daily. Paul also stated he has a Rumble 350 combo since 2012 without issue. Fender Rumble 350's are not known to blow fuses or 'a certain transistor' at all. In fact they have IC boards and not individual transistors. I just wanted to put that clap trap in the grave of false rumors. There are many thousands of happy Rumble owners. Just pop into the Fender Rumble Club on talkbass.com and read for yourself.

Yeah, I've never heard anything about that before, at least with the 2nd generation series. That's why I got that amp in the first place. Of course, there's always bound to be a lemon with any piece of electronic equipment, but I seriously doubt it's a common problem. I'm curious though to why this particular amp has this issue? That could be useful information for those who have that amp, in case something like this ever came up.

That's why I've posted here asking questions because I'm no expert like you guys. Thanks for the clarification, I really appreciate your comment.

Thanks for your reply. If you want you could ask the seller yourself and he can probably explain it in greater detail, for the benefit of the forum. https://offerup.com/item/detail/474892574/
