I played for about another hour. The NEO 115 is sounding nice.
I worked it out with the manager at SA, where I can do some cash, the V-4B as a trade in, and the balance on my SA card for a Super Bassman. Image

The Ampeg is going toward the Super Bassman. I need the trade in, I'm not going to keep two heads.

For some reason, I thought you had actually sold the Ampeg outright. You'd have to go with them to do a trade-in, since AMS doesn't do that, since they aren't technically a store like Sam Ash, with a physical location.

It should work out ok. I'll use the Ampeg until a Super Bassman shows up at the SA Tampa warehouse. The guitar manager at the local SA store will let me know when it's there. Then all I have to do is bring down the Ampeg to the store, with the cash, and my SA Card. I do the trade in, pay the cash, and the smaller balance goes in in my SA Card. About $257. for 24 months. Then I should get the Super Bassman in the next day at the store.

Sounds good. 8) I have a feeling you'd probably be happier with the Super Bassman over the Bassman 800, since it's all tube. By the way, did you ever try out an actual Ampeg SVT 300 watter, since you were looking for a more powerful amp, or you just decided just to go back to all Fender, with the cab?

I decided to go with the Super Bassman as it should match up a bit better with the Bassman NEO 115, than the SVT. Plus, I know what I'm getting into with the Super Bassman from previous ones. The Fender Automatic Bias System is worth having on a tube monster as well. I did try an SVT at a GC a few months ago. But that was through a SVT-810 cab. I do feel comfortable with a Super Bassman.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the 8 x 10" rig. :P Yeah, have fun hauling that friggin' thing in the house. You should be able to get some good sounds out of that new rig, I think. 8)

Yeah, right. an Ampeg refrigerator. No, I believe the Bassman set will work absolutely fine with the Jazzes. What I can't do in volume in the room here, the Super Bassman with the tube 300 watts will make up in power for a full sound. A great sixties sound.

Yeah, I imagine that it would. So when do you think you'll get the head?

God only knows, and he ain't sayin'. When ever the SA Tampa warehouse receives more in stock. Other than that, I don't know.

I guess then it's up to Fender to ship them to their warehouse.

That I guess would be pretty much it. The stock on Fender heads seems to be in short supply at this time.

On all of them, or just that particular series?

On a few of the anyway. I don't matter. I decided to stay with the V-4B / Bassman NEO 115 after all. 100 Watts from that tube head has more than enough power than I really do need. Image

Was it too much hassle to deal with the Super Bassman? It seems like that Ampeg is a decent head for your purposes, anyway. There’s a chance you might have regretted dumping it in the first place, especially after your previous experiences with that series of amps.

The cost of the SB was stretching it a bit for one thing, and the estimated time for SB's to be in stock at Fender to be shipped out is, 45 - 60 days. Honestly, I'm not going to wait that long for one. That's true about the V-4B, I don't have any issues with it, and I do prefer it going through the Bassman NEO 115. It's kinda' fun jabbing at all the Fender amp snobs having an Ampeg head. It also freed up some funds to go for the Sea Foam Pearl, Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision. I was able to save $200. on a sale it's on now.
